प्रधानमंत्री नरेंद्र मोदी वीडियो कॉन्फ्रेंसिंग के जरिए कल शाम असम के बारपेटा में विश्व शांति के लिए कृष्णगुरु एकनाम अखंड कीर्तन में भाग लेंगे। प्रधानमंत्री कृष्णगुरु सेवाश्रम के श्रद्धालुओं को भी संबोधित करेंगे। इस कार्यक्रम में केंद्रीय मंत्री सर्बानंद सोनोवाल और असम सरकार के कई मंत्री भी शामिल होंगे।

A total of 259 candidates are left in the fray for the Assembly election in Tripura. Addressing a press conference in Agartala last evening, Chief Electoral Officer Kiran Gitte said, 32 candidates withdrew their nominations yesterday. Meanwhile, political activities have intensified in Meghalaya with the announcement of all 60 candidates by the BJP for State Assembly elections. Trinamool Congress, Congress and National People's Party have also declared the list of all 60 candidates while the United Democratic party has announced names of 45 candidates including 15 from Garo Hills. Nominations can be filed till 7th of this month.

Legendary filmmaker and Dadasaheb Phalke awardee K. Viswanath passed away at a private hospital in Hyderabad. He was 92. According to his family members, he was suffering from age related issues for the past some time.

Popularly known as Kalatapasvi, (कलातपस्वी ) Viswanath was born in 1930 in Andhra Pradesh and gained popularity in Telugu, Tamil and Hindi films. He made 50 movies since 1965 and was a celebrated filmmaker.

He received the highest recognition in Indian Cinema, the Dadasaheb Phalke award in 2016. Starting his career in films as a sound artist, Viswanath directed award-winning films like Sankarabharanam (शंकराभरणम), Sagara Sangamam (सागरा संगमम), Swati Mutyam (स्वाथि मुत्यम) Saptapadi (सप्तपदी), Kaamchor, Sanjog and Jaag Utha Insaan in his long career. He debuted as a director with film called Aatma Gowravam (अत्मगौरावं) , and won the state government’s prestigious Nandi Award for best feature film.

He received Padma Shri in 1992, five National Awards, and 20 Nandi Awards besides 10 Filmfare trophies including the Lifetime Achievement award.

Viswanath also ventured into mainstream acting, working in movies like Swarabhishekam (स्वराभिशेकम) , Pandurangadu (पान्डूरंगडू) and Narasimha Naidu (नारासिम्हा नायुडू) among others.

Telangana Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao and Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister Y S Jaganmohan Reddy expressed their condolences over the demise of Viswanath.<>

भारत ने ऑस्ट्रेलिया में खालिस्तानी उग्रवादियों की हिंसक घटनाओं की कडी निंदा की है। नई दिल्ली में विदेश मंत्रालय के प्रवक्ता अरिंदम बागची ने संवाददाताओं को बताया कि ऑस्ट्रेलिया के अधिकारियों के साथ यह मुद्दा उठाया गया है। उन्होंने कहा कि स्थानीय अधिकारियों से इस घटना की जांच और अपराधियों को दंडित करने का आग्रह किया गया है। प्रवक्ता ने कहा है कि भारत ने ऑस्ट्रेलिया के अधिकारियों से इस मुद्दे को बार-बार उठाया है। श्री बागची ने कहा कि राजनीति दुर्भावना से प्रेरित उग्रवादियों के तथाकथित खालिस्तान जनमत संग्रह को भारत सिरे से खारिज करता है। उन्होंने कहा कि ऑस्ट्रेलिया सरकार से भारतीय समुदाय और उनकी सम्पत्तियों की सुरक्षा सुनिश्चित करने की अपील की गई है।

The Government has decided to sell wheat flour Atta to consumers at the rate of 29 rupees and fifty paise per kilogram at its various retail outlets from the 6th of this month. The wheat flour will be sold at the outlets of the National Agricultural Cooperative Marketing Federation of India and the National Cooperative Consumers’ Federation of India. Kendriya Bhandar has started selling the product at this rate yesterday.

उत्‍तराखंड में चारधाम यात्रा के लिए तैयारियां शुरू हो गई है। राज्‍य सरकार इस संबंध में आवश्‍यक कदम उठा रही है।  इस यात्रा की अंतिम रूपरेखा गढवाल कमीशनर सुशील कुमार की अध्‍यक्षता में सात फरवरी को ऋषिकेश में होने वाली बैठक में तैयार की जाएगी। बद्रीनाथ, केदारनाथ मंदिर समिति के अध्‍यक्ष अ‍जेन्‍द्र अजय ने कहा कि इस यात्रा का प्रबंधन सुचारू रूप से किया जाएगा। यात्रा 22 अप्रैल से शुरू होगी।  गंगोत्री और यमनोत्री धाम के कपाट अक्षय तृतीया के दिन 22 अप्रैल को और ब्रदीनाथ धाम के कपाट 27 अप्रैल को खुलेंगे। केदारनाथ धाम के कपाट खुलने की तारीख 18 फरवरी महाशिवरात्रि के दिन तय की जाएगी।

The Jammu and Kashmir Police has achieved a major breakthrough in the Narwal, Jammu blast case by arresting a Lashkar-e-Taiba terrorist.  DG Police, Dilbagh Singh said in a press conference  that Arif Ahmed, a resident of Reasi district of Jammu was arrested after a 11 day operation. The DGP said, Arif is a Government employee and is an active terrorist of the Lashkar-e-Taiba outfit. Mr. Singh said, a new type of IED which resembles a bottle of perfume but contains explosive material was recovered from him. He added that the IEDs were air-dropped through drones. Further investigation is on in the matter.

Austria's government said that it had ordered four Russian diplomats based in Vienna, including two at Moscow's mission to U.N. agencies in the city, to leave the country.  

The Federal Ministery, in a statement, stated,"The Federal Ministry for European and International Affairs of the Republic of Austria announces its decision to revoke the diplomatic status of four Russian diplomats in Vienna. Two diplomats of the Russian Embassy have engaged in acts incompatible with their diplomatic status. Therefore, they are declared personae non-gratae under Article 9 of the Vienna Convention on Diplomatic Relations.

The statement further informed that two diplomats of the Russian Permanent Mission to the United Nations have committed acts incompatible with the Headquarters Agreement and will also have to leave the territory of the Republic of Austria within one week.

IIT Madras will be provided a grant of 242 Crore rupees over a period of five years to undertake research on Lab Grown Diamonds. The goal of this research is to promote the indigenization of the LGD manufacturing process. The Institute's numerous departments and research groups active in this area will receive the research funding. Innovative and translational research with important applications in industry and society has a long history at IIT Madras.

Karnataka Governor Thawarchand Gehlot graced ‘A Day At Sea’ event organised by the Indian Coast Guards in Mangaluru yesterday. The event is part of the Coast Guard Week being organised by the force. The Governor, who was on the patrol boat Varaha, saw the fake drill that was performed in the Arabian Sea. Two helicopters, two Dornier aircraft, and six modern Coast Guard vessels were all involved in the simulated practise that was conducted 15 nautical miles into the Arabian Sea. The simulated exercise displayed rescue efforts, counterattack efforts, and anti-aircraft strikes. When there were maritime mishaps, the Coast Guard personnel displayed their dexterity, agility, and manoeuvrability by putting out the fire and saving the trapped. The mock operations were overseen by Karnataka Coast Guard Commander Praveen Kumar Mishra.

The governor of Telangana, Dr. Tamilisai Soundararajan, has asked for widespread training programmes to teach everyone cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR). She stated more lives will be saved by raising awareness and teaching more people in CPR during a special CPR workshop at the Raj Bhavan in Hyderabad. She asserted that mandatory CPR training for students should also be mandated by colleges and universities. Since abrupt cardiac arrest frequently results in mortality and no one is nearby to do CPR, she suggested that all offices hold CPR training sessions to raise awareness among the personnel. The Governor thanked the doctors for providing the police, personnel, and members of the Indian Red Cross Society with CPR training at the Raj Bhavan. In a related development, the governor spoke with students at the Raj Bhavan who were enrolled in the National Security and Strategic Studies programme at the National Defence College in New Delhi.

आटे की बढती कीमत पर लगाम लगाने के लिये केन्‍द्रीय भंडार ने कल से भारत आटा ब्रांड नाम से 29 रूपये 50 पैसे प्रति किलोग्राम की दर से गेंहू के आटे की बिक्री शुरू कर दी है। केन्‍द्रीय खादय और सार्वजनिक वितरण विभाग के सचिव संजीव चोपडा ने एक बैठक में खुले बाजार बिक्री योजना के तहत आटे की बिक्री की समीक्षा की।

दिल्‍ली के उप मुख्‍यमंत्री और लोक निर्माण मंत्री मनीष सिसोदिया ने कहा कि आश्रम फ्लाईओवर का विस्‍तार कार्य इस महीने पूरा हो जायेगा। श्री सिसोदिया ने कल आश्रम फ्लाईओर का निरीक्षण करने के बाद इंजिनियरों को समय पर निर्माण कार्य पूरा करने के निर्देश भी दिए। उन्‍होंने कहा कि इस फ्लाइओवर का काम पूरा होने के बाद नोएडा के साथ दिल्ली के अन्य हिस्सों से दक्षिणी दिल्ली आने-जाने वाले लाखों लोगों को ट्रैफिक जाम से छुटकारा मिलेगा। फ्लाईओवर का 95 प्रतिशत निर्माण कार्य पूरा किया जा चुका है। उन्‍होंने कहा कि नए और पुराने फ्लाईओवर को जोड़ने का काम भी लगभग पूरा हो गया है।

मुख्‍यमंत्री अरविंद केजरीवाल ने कल एक और स्कूल ऑफ स्पेशलाइज्ड एक्सीलेंस दिल्लीवासियों को समर्पित किया। श्री केजरीवाल ने जनकपुरी स्थित डेसु कॉलोनी में ड्रॉ. बी.आर. अंबेडकर स्कूल ऑफ स्पेशलाइज्ड एक्सीलेंस के तहत नवनिर्मित स्पेशलाइज्ड एक्सीलेंस स्कूल का उद्घाटन किया। उन्‍होंने कहा कि बच्चों की प्रतिभा उभारने के लिए अलग-अलग स्कूल ऑफ स्पेशलाइज्ड एक्सीलेंस बनाए जा रहे हैं। इस स्कूल में इंजीनियरिंग, मेडिकल, आईटी और आर्टिफिशियल इंटेलिजेंस की पढ़ाई होगी।

केंद्रीय प्रदूषण नियंत्रण बोर्ड ने दिल्ली के समग्र वायु गुणवत्‍ता सूचकांक में महत्वपूर्ण और निरंतर सुधार के मद्देनजर समीक्षा बैठक की। मौसम विभाग ने आने वाले दिनों में दिल्ली के समग्र वायु गुणवत्‍ता सूचकांक को मध्यम श्रेणी में रहने का अनुमान लगाया है।

सरकार ने कहा है कि डिजी यात्रा योजना कोलकाता, पुणे, विजयवाडा और हैदराबाद हवाईअड्डों पर इस वर्ष मार्च तक लागू कर दी जायेगी। डिजी यात्रा योजना में हवाईअड्डों पर बायोमीट्रिक बोर्डिंग प्रणाली का उपयोग किया जाता है जिसमें यात्री के चेहरे के पहचान तकनीक के जरिये की जाती है। नागर विमानन मंत्रालय ने कहा है कि डिजी यात्रा पूरे देश में चरणबद्ध तरीके से लागू की जायेगी। पहले चरण में दिल्ली, बेंगलुरू और वाराणसी हवाईअड्डों पर पिछले वर्ष दिसम्बर से लागू कर दी गई है।

पश्चिम बंगाल में प्रधानमंत्री आवास योजना के तहत 97 प्रतिशत से अधिक आवासों के निर्माण की स्वीकृति दी जा चुकी है। प्रदेश के पंचायत मंत्री श्री प्रदीप मजूमदार ने आकाशवाणी को बताया कि प्रदेश में 11 लाख से अधिक आवास स्वीकृत हो चुके हैं। आवेदकों के पास जमीन नहीं होने के कारण शेष कुछ आवास स्वीकृत नहीं हो सके। प्रशासनिक सूत्रों के अनुसार इनके मामले में स्वीकृति के लिए 31 मार्च तक का समय दिया गया है. सरकार उन आवेदकों को जमीन और संबंधित दस्तावेज उपलब्ध कराने की पहल कर रही है। नवान्ना ने बताया कि पिछले सात दिनों में पंचायत विभाग द्वारा 12 हजार से अधिक आवास स्वीकृत किए जा चुके हैं। पंचायत विभाग के अधिकारियों ने घर-घर जाकर प्रक्रिया संबंधी समस्याओं का समाधान किया, जो बहुत कम लोगों के सामने हैं

महिला एवं बाल विकास मंत्री मंगल प्रभात लोढ़ा ने बताया है कि डोंगरी और मानखुर्द किशोर गृहों की तरह सभी किशोर गृहों में कौशल विकास केंद्र शुरू किये जायेंगे. मंत्री ने डोंगरी में चिल्ड्रन एड सोसाइटी में कौशल विकास केंद्र के उद्घाटन के अवसर पर कहा कि बच्चे फैशन डिजाइनिंग, फ्रेम डिजाइनिंग और कंप्यूटर में कौशल शिक्षा सीखेंगे।

सुप्रसिद्ध अभिनेत्री वहीदा रहमान का आज जन्‍मदिन है। यूं तो वहीदा ने अपने फिल्मी करियर की शुरुआत तेलुगु सिनेमा से की थी, लेकिन उन्हें हिंदी सिनेमा में पहला ब्रेक फिल्म सीआईडी से मिला, इस फिल्म में उन्होंने नेगेटिव भूमिका अदा की, इस फिल्म में वहीदा के साथ गुरु दत्त नजर आये थे। गाइड, प्यासा, चौदहवीं का चाँद, काग़ज़ के फूल, साहिब बीबी और ग़ुलाम, तीसरी कसम ! वहीदा रहमान की उल्लेखनीय फ़िल्में हैं। वहीदा रहमान का चयन वर्ष 2013 की भारतीय फ़िल्म हस्ती के शताब्दी पुरस्कार के लिए किया गया।

हिन्दी फ़िल्मों की शानदार अभिनेत्री रीमा लागू की आज जयंती है। फ़िल्मों में माँ की शानदार भूमिकाएँ निभाने के लिए रीमा लागू को जाना जाता है। फ़िल्म 'मैंने प्यार किया' की साथिन माँ हो या 'वास्तव' की कठोर माँ या फिर 'ये दिल्लगी' की मालिकाना माँ, रीमा लागू की इन भूमिकाओं का कोई सानी नहीं था। उन्होंने नए जमाने की माँ की भूमिकाओं को खूब चरितार्थ किया। 'आशिकी', 'साजन', 'हम आपके हैं कौन', 'मैंने प्यार किया, 'वास्तव', 'कुछ कुछ होता है' और 'हम साथ साथ हैं' जैसी कई फ़िल्मों में रीमा ने माँ का जीवंत किरदार निभाया। उन्होंने सलमान ख़ान के लिए कई फ़िल्मों में उनकी माँ की भूमिका निभाई। टीवी सीरियल 'तू तू मैं मैं' में वह सास के किरदार में थीं।
