गुजरात विधानसभा चुनाव के दूसरे और अंतिम चरण के लिए आज मतदान होगा। अहमदाबाद, वडोदरा और गांधीनगर सहित 14 जिलों की 93 सीटों पर सवेरे 8 बजे से शाम 5 बजे तक वोट डाले जाएंगे। 69 महिलाओं सहित कुल 833 उम्मीदवार मैदान में हैं। मतगणना बृहस्‍पतिवार 8 दिसंबर को होगी। सुचारू रूप से चुनाव सुनिश्चित करने के लिए निर्वाचन आयोग ने सभी जरूरी इंतजाम किए हैं। 26 हजार से अधिक मतदान केंद्र बनाए गए हैं।

Byelections for Mainpuri Lok Sabha seat and Rampur and Khatauli Assembly constituencies in Uttar Pradesh will be held today. Bypolls to Padampur Assembly seat in Odisha, Sardarshahar in Rajasthan, Kurhani in Bihar and Bhanupratappur in Chhattisgarh will also be held today. The counting of votes will take place on 8th December.

प्रधानमंत्री नरेन्‍द्र मोदी आज नई दिल्‍ली में भारतीय जनता पार्टी मुख्‍यालय में पार्टी के राष्‍ट्रीय पदाधिकारियों की दो दिन की बैठक का उद्घाटन करेंगे। वे पार्टी पदाधिकारियों को सम्‍बोधित करेंगे और उनका मार्गदर्शन करेंगे। भाजपा ने बताया है कि श्री मोदी आज अहमदाबाद में वोट डालने के तुरन्‍त बाद बैठक में शामिल होने के लिए दिल्‍ली रवाना होंगे।  बैठक की अध्‍यक्षता भाजपा अध्‍यक्ष जे.पी. नड्डा करेंगे। अगले वर्ष कुछ राज्‍यों में होने वाले विधानसभा चुनाव की तैयारियों की समीक्षा के साथ पार्टी की भावी रणनीति पर विचार होगा। बूथ समितियों से लेकर पार्टी की विभिन्‍न संगठनात्‍मक गतिविधियों पर भी चर्चा होगी।

To promote the export of millets, the government is organising day-long 'Millets-Smart Nutritive Food' Conclave in New Delhi today. The conclave is a pre-launch event of the International Year of Millets - 2023 organised by Ministry of Commerce and Industry through its apex agricultural export promotion body, Agricultural and Processed Food Products Export Development Authority (APEDA). Union Minister for Commerce and Industry Minister Piyush Goyal will be chief guest at the conclave. At the first-of-its-kind Millets Conclave, the government will release e-catalogue on 30 potential importing countries and 21 millet producing states of India. According to the official statement, exhibition and B2B meeting will also be organized at the Conclave to showcase Indian millets and millet-based products.

Minister of State for Atomic Energy and Space Dr Jitendra Singh will lead the Indian delegation to United Arab Emirates (UAE) at the “Abu Dhabi Space Debate beginning today. Dr Singh will address the Opening Ceremony along with the Israeli President Isaac Herzog. During the two-day International meet, the Minister will also attend the Ministerial Plenary on the ‘Role of Foreign Policy in Enabling Space Diplomacy and International Cooperation. The Minister is also scheduled to hold delegation level talks with UAE Minister of State for Advanced Technology and Chairperson of UAE Space Agency Sarah Al Amiri to discuss ways and means for further strengthening bilateral space cooperation.

In Shooting, Manu Bhaker and Sarabjot Singh won the 10 metre air pistol mixed team title at the 65th National Shooting Championship Competitions (NSCC) at the MP Shooting Academy range in Bhopal yesterday. The Haryana duo trounced Karnataka’s Divya TS and Imroz 16-4 in the gold medal encounter. Punjab and ONGC shared the bronze medals. In the junior mixed team pistol, the gold was won by Uttar Pradesh’s Anjali and Sagar after beating Uttarakhand’s Yashsavi and Abhinav 18-16 in the gold medal match. Maharashtra and Andhra Pradesh won the bronze medals on offer.

Navy Day was celebrated at the Navy House in Chennai yesterday. On the Occasion, a wreath laying ceremony was held at Victory war memorial at Chennai. Rear Admiral S.Venkat Raman, VSM, Flag Officer Commanding Tamilnadu and Puducherry laid a wreath and paid homage to the personnel of the Indian Armed Forces who have made the supreme sacrifice in the service of the Nation. Officers of the Indian Army, Air Force,Coast Guard and veteran Naval Officers and sailors were also present during the ceremony.

A special inoculation drive against Japanese Encephalitis will be launched in Karnataka today. An estimated 48 lakh children aged between 1-15 will be inoculated under a special vaccination drive for a period of three weeks. The Union Health Ministry is supplying the Jenvac vaccine to conduct the drive. Encephalitis is caused by virus flavivirus spread by Culex mosquitoes. It causes inflammation of the brain with a death rate of around 20 to 30 percent and 30 to 50 percent of patients end up with sensory and motor weakness and other permanent physical and mental disabilities. Last year 25 cases and this year 21 cases of Encephalitis were reported in Karnataka.

Chief Minister K Chandrashekhar Rao yesterday inaugurated the new integrated district collectorate complex of Mahabubnagar district near Palakonda. He made District Collector S Venkata Rao sit in the chair and congratulated him. Speaking on the occasion, the Chief Minister asked government officials and employees to strive for excellence in implementation of government schemes with a humane approach. He wanted them to actively participate in the second phase of the Kanti Velugu scheme which is scheduled to commence next month and make it a success. He wanted them to work with renewed vigour to ensure maximum benefit to the poor and the needy.

दिल्ली नगर निगम के 250 वार्डों के चुनाव में कल शाम साढ़े पांच बजे तक लगभग साढ़े 50 प्रतिशत मतदान हुआ। दिल्ली राज्य चुनाव आयोग ने बताया कि आदर्श आचार संहिता के उल्लंघन की छिटपुट घटनाओं के अलावा मतदान शांतिपूर्ण रहा। मतों की गिनती सात दिसंबर को होगी।

नरेला इलाके के कटेवड़ा गांव के लोगों ने मतदान का बहिष्कार किया। लोगों ने बताया है कि पिछले कई वर्षों से गांव में सड़क मार्ग, नालियां और श्मशान घाट जैसी बुनियादी सुविधाएं खस्ताहाल में हैं। इस बारे में वह कई बार जन प्रतिनिधियों को भी अगवत करवा चुके हैं, लेकिन स्थिति में कोई सुधार नहीं हुआ है। जिसके बाद उन्हें मतदान का बहिष्कार करना पड़ा।

कांग्रेस के दिल्‍ली प्रदेश अध्‍यक्ष चौधरी अनिल कुमार मतदाता सूची में नाम नहीं होने के कारण दिल्‍ली नगर निगम के चुनाव में मतदान नहीं कर सके। इस बारे में पार्टी के नेता अनिल भारद्वाज के नेतृत्व में एक प्रतिनिधिमंडल ने दिल्ली राज्य चुनाव आयोग को मिलकर शिकायत दर्ज कराई।

दिल्ली भाजपा के अध्यक्ष आदेश गुप्ता ने दावा किया कि इस चुनाव में भारतीय जनता पार्टी स्पष्ट बहुमत के साथ जनता की सेवा में वापस आ रही है। उन्होंने कहा कि भाजपा एक संगठन आधारित पार्टी है और पार्टी कार्यकर्ताओं ने पूर्ण लगन के साथ चुनाव प्रचार किया साथ ही मतदान के लिए लोगों को घर-घर जाकर उत्साहित किया।

महाराष्‍ट्र के राज्यपाल भगत सिंह कोश्यारी ने विश्वास व्यक्त किया है कि युवा उद्यमी भारत को दुनिया की तीसरी आर्थिक शक्ति बनाएंगे। वह कल राजभवन में दत्ता जोशी की मराठी और अंग्रेजी किताबों 'मूविंग एस्पिरेशंस - 25 इम्पैक्टफुल स्टोरीज ऑफ नेक्स्टजेन' के विमोचन के अवसर पर बोल रहे थे। उन्होंने कहा कि अगर सौ में से दस युवा भी इन युवा उद्यमियों की सफलता की कहानियों को पढ़कर प्रेरित होते हैं, तो राज्य को नए उद्यमियों से लाभ होगा।

कोलकाता में मुख्य रूप से साफ आसमान रहेगा। न्‍यूनतम तापमान 15 और अधिकतम 27 डिग्री सेल्सियस रह सकता है।

मुम्बई में भी मुख्‍य रूप से आसमान साफ रहेगा। न्यूनतम तापमान 21 और अधिकतम 34 डिग्री सेल्सियस के आसपास रहने का अनुमान है।

अभी आपने  प्रसिद्ध  समाचार वाचक रामानुज प्रसाद सिंह की संजीदा आवाज को सुना। करीब तीन दशक तक रेडियो पर गूंजने वाली ये आवाज हमेशा के लिए सुनने वालों के मन में अपनी कभी न मिटने वाली जगह बना चुकी है। उनकी आवाज और समाचार वाचन शैली में उन्‍हें दूसरों से अलग बनाया और आकाशवाणी के श्रोताओं के बीच लोकप्रिय बना दिया। तीन दशकों तक काम किया। तीन दशक तक आकाशवाणी में समाचार वाचक के तौर पर सेवाएं देने वाले रामानुज प्रसाद सिंह 1960 में आकाशवाणी से जुड़े। सुबह, दोपहर और शाम के प्राइम बुलेटिनों में सालों तक समाचार पढ़ने के कारण रामानुज प्रसाद सिंह आम लोगों में एक जाना-पहचाना नाम बने गये थे। वह कवि और साहित्य कुलगुरु रामधारी सिंह 'दिनकर' के अनुज सत्यनारायण जी के बेटे यानी दिनकर जी के भतीजे थे। देश ही नहीं, विदेशों में भी जहां ऑल इंडिया रेडियो के समाचार सुने जाते थे, वहां भी रामानुज प्रसाद सिंह को बहुत सम्मान मिलता था। वह दमदार आवाज ही नहीं, शानदार व्यक्तित्व के भी मालिक थे। देवकीनन्दन पांडे और विनोद कश्यप इनसे पहले आने के कारण और भी लोकप्रिय थे। पर रामानुज ने समाचार पढ़ने का अपना अंदाज इन दोनों से अलग रखा। इसलिए उनका अपना एक अलग आभामंडल बन गया था।

Today birth anniversary of Sri Aurobindo, he was an Indian philosopher, yogi, maharishi, poet, and Indian nationalist. He was also a journalist, editing newspapers such as Vande Mataram. He joined the Indian movement for independence from British colonial rule, until 1910 was one of its influential leaders, and then became a spiritual reformer, introducing his visions on human progress and spiritual evolution. At Pondicherry, Sri Aurobindo developed a spiritual practice he called Integral Yoga. The central theme of his vision was the evolution of human life into a divine life in divine body. He believed in a spiritual realisation that not only liberated but transformed human nature, enabling a divine life on earth. In 1926, with the help of his spiritual collaborator, Mirra Alfassa (referred to as "The Mother"), Sri Aurobindo Ashram was founded. His main literary works are The Life Divine, which deals with the philosophical aspect of Integral Yoga; Synthesis of Yoga, which deals with the principles and methods of Integral Yoga; and Savitri: A Legend and a Symbol, an epic poem.

फिल्‍म अभिनेत्री नादिरा  की आज जयंती हे। नादिरा ने अधिकतर फ़िल्मों में नेगेटिव रोल किए। पचास और साठ के दशक में नादिरा की शोहरत आसमान पर थी और राजकपूर की 'श्री चार सौ बीस' के एक गाने के बाद से तो उन्हें 'मुड़ मुड़ के न देख गर्ल' ही कहा जाने लगा था।

Her first major opportunity came from Sardar Akhtar, wife of film director Mehboob Khan, in the film Aan (1952); her role as a Rajput princess in the film marked her rise to cinematic prominence. In 1955, she played a rich socialite named Maya in Shree 420. She played pivotal roles in a number of films such as Dil Apna Aur Preet Parai (1960), Pakeezah (1972), Hanste Zakhm (1973), and Amar Akbar Anthony (1977); she worked alongside Shammi Kapoor in Sipahsalar (1956). She was often cast as a temptress or vamp, and played opposite the chaste heroines that were favoured at the time by the Hindi film industry.

Today birth anniversary of Khan Bahadur Ardeshir Irani, he  was a writer, director, producer, actor, film distributor, film showman and cinematographer in the silent and sound eras of early Indian cinema. He was one of the greatest legend of today's Indian Cinema. He was the director of India's first sound film Alam Ara.

He was the producer of India's first colour film Kisan Kanya. He was renowned for making films in Hindi, Telugu, English, German, Indonesian, Persian, Urdu and Tamil. He was a successful entrepreneur who owned film theatres, a gramophone agency, and a car agency.

उर्दू की प्रगतिशील विचारधारा से जुड़े रोमानी शायर असरारुल हक़ मजाज़ की आज पुण्‍यतिथि है। लखनऊ से जुड़े होने से वे 'मजाज़ लखनवी' के नाम से भी प्रसिद्ध हुए। आगरा में रहते समय उन्होंने 'शहीद' उपनाम अपनाया था। बाद में उन्होंने 'मजाज़' उपनाम अपने नाम के साथ जोड़ा। उनके पिता उन्हें इंजीनियर बनाना चाहते थे, इसलिए भौतिकी एवं गणित के विषय उन्हें दिलवाये गये।[2] परंतु, मजाज़ की रुचि साइंस में बिल्कुल नहीं थी। असरारुल हक़ मजाज़ ने पहली नौकरी ऑल इंडिया रेडियो में की थी। १९३५ में एक साल तक ऑल इंडिया रेडियो की पत्रिका 'आवाज़' के सहायक संपादक भी रहे थे। सुप्रसिद्ध शायर फ़ैज़ अहमद फ़ैज़ ने मजाज़ की क्रांतिवादिता एवं कवित्व के बारे में लिखा है :"मजाज़ की क्रांतिवादिता आम शायरों से भिन्न है।.. मजाज़ क्रांति का प्रचारक नहीं, क्रांति का गायक है। उसके नग़मे में बरसात के दिन की सी आरामदायक शीतलता है और वसंत की रात की सी प्रिय उष्णता की प्रभावात्मकता।"

We are also remembering Amrita Sher-Gil on his death anniversary  she was a Hungarian-Indian painter. She has been called "one of the greatest avant-garde women artists of the early 20th century" and a pioneer in modern Indian art. Drawn to painting from an early age, Sher-Gil started formal lessons at the age of eight. She first gained recognition at the age of 19, for her oil painting Young Girls (1932). Sher-Gil depicted everyday life of the people in her paintings. Sher-Gil traveled throughout her life to various countries including Turkey, France, and India, deriving heavily from precolonial Indian art styles as well as contemporary culture. Sher-Gil is considered an important painter of 20th-century India, whose legacy stands on a level with that of the pioneers from the Bengal Renaissance.

Today birth anniversary of Anjali Bhagwat, is a professional Indian sport shooter. She became the World Number One in 10m Air Rifle in 2002. She also won her first World Cup Final in Milan, in 2003, with a score of 399/400. To date, she has won 31 Gold, 23 Silver and 7 Bronze medals. She has set 13 new records in international competitions and has won 55 Gold, 35 Silver and 16 Bronze medals, with 8 new records in national competitions in India.
