Defence Minister Rajnath Singh will co-chair the 4th India-France Annual Defence Dialogue with the French Armed Forces Minister Sebastien Lecornu on his visit to India from today to 28th of this month. In an official release, Ministry of Defence said, this would be Mr Lecornu's first visit to India as Armed Forces Minister. The French Minister is also expected to meet External Affair Minister Dr S Jaishankar and National Security Advisor Ajit Doval. He is also scheduled to visit Southern Naval Command Headquarters at Kochi and see India’s first indigenous aircraft carrier INS Vikrant.

The Union Territory of Jammu and Kashmir has registered an increase of 10.19 percent voters after the exercise of special summary revision by the Election Commission concluded after delimitation. There has been net increase of Seven lakh 72 thousand 872 electors in the final electoral roll. The final electoral rolls have a total of 83 lakh 59 thousand 771 electors, out of which 42 lakh 91 thousand 687 are male, 40 lakh 67 thousand 900 are females and 184 are third gender

The Centre has released draft Prevention of Cruelty to Animal Act (Amendment) Bill 2022 for public comments. In the draft legislation it has proposed to introduce 61 amendments in the Prevention of Cruelty to Animal Act-1960. The draft Bill has included bestiality as a crime under the new category of gruesome cruelty. A provision of maximum five-year imprisonment with a minimum 75 thousand rupees fine for killing an animal has been made. The draft Bill also suggests five freedoms of animals including freedom from thirst, hunger and malnutrition and from fear and distress, under Section 3A. It also proposes to recognise community animals as any animal born in a community for which no ownership has been claimed excluding wild animals. The draft said that the local governments will be responsible for taking care of community animals.

AIIMS Delhi has said that all the efforts are on to bring back the digital patient care services which were hit by a ransomware attack on its server. AIIMS has expressed hope that the services will be restore soon. Due to the cyber security incident at AIIMS on 23rd of this month, outpatient and inpatient digital hospital services including smart lab, billing, report generation, appointment systems have been affected. All these services are still running on manual mode. Various government agencies are investigating the cyber security incident at All India Institute of Medical Sciences Delhi's server. A FIR has been registered by Special Cell of Delhi Police to investigate the matter.

In Cricket, New Zealand registered a comfortable victory against India in the first ODI at Auckland by seven wickets yesterday. Chasing a target of 307 runs, New Zealand scored 309 for three in 47.1 overs, Initially, the visitors posted 306 for seven in 50 overs. The second ODI will be played tomorrow at Seddon Park in Hamilton.

Chennai Petroleum Corporation Limited and Indian Oil Corporation have signed a joint venture agreement for a refinery and petrochemicals project at Nagapattinam. Both companies will together hold 50  percent of the equity stake in the joint venture company  and the balance 50 percent stake would be held by financial and strategic investors to be identified at a later stage. The project would result in a substantial socio economic benefit to the country in general.

The Blue Cross of India receives more than 500 calls to help animals in distress. But its volunteers are able to rescue and treat only 30 a day as they have to pick up the animals and transport them for treatment. The Organisation launched it second mobile hospital on Wednesday. Equipped with state of the art facilities, a vet and a para vet, it will help provide timely treatment to community animals across the city. Third vehicle will be launched in another month. The vehicles are equipped and customised for onsite treatment a treatment table, inverter, two fans, a fridge, drawers to keep bandages and sterile products, overhead cupboards to keep medical equipments, accessories, a wash basin anti skid shock absorbing mat, retractable doctors seat, stretcher, trolley, provision for administering iv fluids, oxygen, outer retractable tarpaulin, a movable cage for holding dog and also a dog catching equipment.

Karnataka Chief Minister Basavaraj Bommai has assured the people of the state that the Government will do everything in its capacity to protect the interest of the state on the issue of border row with Maharashtra. Interacting with the media persons in Bengaluru today, he condemned the alleged incidents of painting pro Maharashtra slogans on Karnataka Road Transport buses.

Telangana state will have the first Integrated Rocket Design, Manufacturing and Testing Facility of the country in Hyderabad by Skyroot Aerospace’s facility.  State IT Minister K Tarakarama Rao has assured the start-up complete support for establishing the facility to design, manufacture, and test rockets in the state. He participated in a programme organized at T-Hub on yesterday to celebrate Skyroot Aerospace’s successful launch of Vikram-S rocket. The Hyderabad based startup, incubated at T-Hub, launched the country’s first private rocket earlier during this month. The Minister expressed pride and happiness that a spacetech company from Hyderabad, broke all the barriers. He said only a few companies across the world aced rocket science and achieved success in the first go.

दिल्ली नगर निगम चुनाव की तारीख जैसे-जैसे नजदीक आ रही है, वैसे-वैसे राजधानी में चुनावी सरगर्मियां तेज होती जा रही हैं। मतदाताओं को लुभाने के लिए सभी राजनीतिक दल बढ़-चढ़कर चुनाव प्रचार में जुटे हैं। प्रमुख दल भाजपा, कांग्रेस और आम आदमी पार्टी के नेता राजधानी के विभिन्न क्षेत्रों में जाकर जनसंपर्क, नुक्कड़ सभाएं और रोड शो कर रहे हैं।

उल्लेखनीय है कि नगर निगम चुनाव में एक हजार तीन सौ 49 प्रत्याशी अपनी किस्मत आजमा रहे हैं। इनमें छह सौ 40 पुरुष और सात सौ नौ महिला उम्मीदवार शामिल हैं। नगर निगम चुनाव के 250 वार्डों के लिए चार दिसंबर को मतदान आयोजित किया जाएगा। मतगणना 7 दिसंबर को होगी।

महाराष्ट्र के मुख्यमंत्री एकनाथ शिंदे ने कहा कि राज्य सरकार ने मुख्यमंत्री चैरिटेबल फंड के तहत महाराष्ट्र-कर्नाटक सीमा क्षेत्र के 865 गांवों में सामाजिक, शैक्षिक, धर्मार्थ, सांस्कृतिक और साथ ही अर्ध-सार्वजनिक संस्थानों और संगठनों को वित्तीय सहायता प्रदान करने का निर्णय लिया है। हाल ही में सीमा मुद्दे पर सहयाद्री गेस्ट हाउस में हुई बैठक में मुख्यमंत्री एकनाथ शिंदे ने सीमावर्ती इलाकों में मराठी लोगों और संगठनों को महाराष्ट्र से आर्थिक मदद देने के निर्देश दिए थे!

मुंबई में नई लॉन्च की गई वाटर टैक्सी नयन XI शनिवार, 26 नवंबर से बेलापुर और मांडवा के बीच केवल सप्ताहांत सेवाएं शुरू करेगी। संचालक नयनतारा शिपिंग प्राइवेट लिमिटेड के अनुसार वाटर टैक्सी बेलापुर से सुबह 8 बजे रवाना होकर 9.15 बजे मांडवा पहुंचेगी। मांडवा से सेवा शाम 6 बजे होगी और यह डोमेस्टिक क्रूज टर्मिनल (DCW) फेरी घाट के माध्यम से शाम 7:45 बजे बेलापुर पहुंचेगी। एक्जीक्यूटिव क्लास के लिए टिकट की कीमत 300 रुपये और बिजनेस क्लास के लिए 400 रुपये होगी।

राज्य सरकार पश्चिम बंगाल में सरकारी अस्पतालों और मेडिकल कॉलेजों में दलाली के रैकेट पर अंकुश लगाने के लिए कड़े कदम उठा रही है। विधानसभा में कल आयोजित प्रश्नोत्तर सत्र में मुख्यमंत्री ममता बनर्जी ने कहा कि अस्पतालों पर निगरानी रखने के लिए सभी कर्मचारियों का उनके पते और अन्य पहचान के साथ एक डेटा बैंक तैयार किया जाएगा. मुख्यमंत्री ने स्वास्थ्य विभाग को अस्पतालों में सीसीटीवी के अलावा केंद्रीकृत निगरानी रखने के आदेश दिए हैं। मुख्यमंत्री ने चेतावनी दी है कि अगर किसी अस्पताल द्वारा इलाज शुरू करने से पहले पैसे लेने की शिकायत मरीज की ओर से आती है तो उस अस्पताल का लाइसेंस रद्द कर दिया जाएगा। मुख्यमंत्री ने घोषणा की कि राज्य में जल्द ही छह नए मेडिकल कॉलेज खुलेंगे।

राष्‍ट्रीय राजधानी दिल्‍ली में धुंध छाई रहने का अनुमान है। न्यूनतम तापमान 8 डिग्री सेल्सियस से 28 डिग्री सेल्सियस के बीच रहने की संभावना है।

मुम्‍बई में आमतौर पर आसमान साफ रहेगा।

कोलकाता में आमतौर पर आसमान साफ रहेगा। न्‍यूनतम तापमान 21 डिग्री सेल्सियस और अधिकतम 34 डिग्री सेल्सियस के आसपास रहने का अनुमान है।

Kolkata will have mainly clear sky. The lower limit of temperature was 15 degree celsius and the upper limit likely to be nearly 28 degrees.  

Chennai is expected to have Partly cloudy sky with possibility of moderate rain or Thunderstorm. The minimum temperature was 25 degree celsius and maximum expected to be around 31 degrees.

Hyderabad is likely to have Partly cloudy sky with haze. The minimum temperature was 17 degree celsius and maximum will be around 30 degrees.

फरहत - और अब समय है इतिहास में दर्ज आज की कुछ महत्‍वपूर्ण घटनाओं के जि़क्र का। आज 26 नवम्‍बर है।

आजाद भारत के इतिहास में 26 नवंबर की खास अहमियत है। दरअसल यही वह दिन है, जब गुलामी की जंजीरों से आजाद होकर अपने स्वतंत्र अस्तित्व को आकार देने का प्रयास कर रहे राष्ट्र ने संविधान को अंगीकार किया। इसी दिन संविधान सभा ने इसे अपनी स्वीकृति दी थी। इस वजह से इस दिन को ‘संविधान दिवस’ के तौर पर मनाया जाता है। और इस पर हमारे श्रोता शिव कुमार शर्मा जी ने एक रोचक तथ्य़ भी बताया है कि जिस दिन भारत का संविधान तैयार हुआ दिन शनिवार का दिन था और आज भी शनिवार का ही दिन है।

1949 New Constitution of India adopted and signed. The constitution of India was framed by a Constituent Assembly set up under the Cabinet Mission Plan, 1946. The Assembly held its first meeting on December 9, 1946 and elected Dr.Rajendra Prasad as its Chairman.

2008 हालांकि इस तारीख के साथ कुछ बरस पहले की एक दुखद घटना भी जुड़ी हुई है। 26 नवंबर, 2008 को मुंबई में देश को दहला देने वाला आतंकवादी हमला हुआ था। देश की वाणिज्यिक राजधानी मुम्बई के कई महत्वपूर्ण स्थानों पर 10 पाकिस्तानी आतंकवादियों ने हमले किए थे जिनमें 166 लोग मारे गए थे और 600 से अधिक घायल हुए थे। ये हमले तीन दिन तक चले। इस दौरान नौ हमलावर आतंकवादियों को मार गिराया गया और मुम्बई पुलिस ने एक आतंकवादी कसाब को जिंदा पकड़ लिया, जिसे बाद में फांसी दी गई।

1949 The constitution of India was framed by a Constituent Assembly set up under the Cabinet Mission Plan, 1946. The Assembly held its first meeting on December 9, 1946 and elected Dr. Rajendra Prasad as its Chairman. The Constitution was prepared by the Drafting commission under the chairmanship of Dr. B. R. Ambedkar and was finally adopted on November 26, 1949. Framers of the constitution borrowed ideas from the Constitution of UK, USA, Ireland, Canada, South Africa, Germany and other countries.

वी. के. मूर्ति

वेंकटरामा पंडित कृष्णमूर्ति (अंग्रेज़ी: Venkatarama Pandit Krishnamurthy; जन्म: 26 नवम्बर, 1923 - मृत्यु: 7 अप्रॅल, 2014) भारतीय सिने जगत में एक जाना-पहचाना नाम है। वे हिन्दी फ़िल्मों के प्रसिद्ध सिनेमेटोग्राफ़र हैं। एक कैमरामैन के रूप में वी. के. मूर्ति ने बहुत नाम कमाया है। उनके कैमरे का जादू मुस्कुराते होठों की उदासी, आँखों के काले घेरों की स्याह नमी, गुलाबी सर्दियों की गुनगुनाती गर्माहट और किताबों में छुपी चिठ्ठियों से उठती प्रेम की खुशबू आदि सब कुछ कैद कर सकता है। वी. के. मूर्ति कला और तकनीक के अद्भूत सम्मिश्रण तथा हिन्दी सिनेमा में प्रकाश और छाया के अतुलनीय प्रयोगों का नाम है। वे ऐक्टर-डायरेक्टर गुरुदत्त की टीम के साथ जुड़े थे। 'प्यासा', 'काग़ज़ के फूल', 'चौंदहवीं का चांद' और 'साहब बीबी और ग़ुलाम' जैसी गुरुदत्त की ब्लैक ऐंड वाइट फ़िल्मों में उन्होंने लाइट और कैमरे से चमत्कार उत्पन्न करके दर्शकों का मन मोह लिया था। उन्हें देश के सबसे बड़े सम्मान 'दादा साहब फाल्के पुरस्कार' (2008) के लिए भी चुना गया।

Hemant Karkare AC (27 November 2008) was the chief of the Mumbai Anti-Terrorist Squad (ATS). He was killed in action during the 2008 Mumbai attacks. In 2009, he was posthumously given the Ashoka Chakra,[1][2] India's highest peacetime gallantry decoration.

Karkare succeeded K. P. Raghuvanshi as the Chief of ATS in January 2008 and was eventually succeeded by Raghuvanshi after he was shot dead on 26 November 2008. He was credited with solving the serial bombing cases in Thane, Vashi and Panvel, and led the investigation of the 2008 Malegaon blasts.

Karkare, along with senior police officials Ashok Kamte and Vijay Salaskar, were killed outside the Cama Hospital after Pakistani terrorist wing opened fire on their police van.

At 9.45 p.m. on 26 November 2008, while having his dinner at his Dadar residence, he received a call about a terrorist attack at Chatrapati Shivaji Terminus (C.S.T.) station. He switched on the TV for news and left at once with his driver and bodyguards for C.S.T. There he donned a bullet-proof vest and helmet (shown on news channels live), and went to Platform No.1, but found it deserted. He was then informed that the terrorists had moved to the Cama and Albless Hospital ("Cama") next to the Azad Maidan police station.

The operation was difficult as it was dark and the terrorists were well prepared and virtually on a fidayeen mission. The officers, with a few constables, went into Cama from the back. A couple of constables were left stationed at the back entrance of Cama, while the rest boarded a Qualis jeep. Senior Police Inspector Vijay Salaskar asked the driver of the Qualis to let him take over at the wheel. About that time, they heard on the wireless that the terrorists were hiding behind a red car.

As they turned from the Crime Branch office towards Rang Bhavan looking for the red car, near the Corporation Bank ATM, they saw one of the terrorists running. Ashok Kamte, ACP of Mumbai East, or Salaskar - or both - fired, the bullet hitting the terrorist on his arm, his AK-47 fell down. He was Kasab, the lone terrorist captured alive later. As they were thinking of getting down, a second terrorist, Ismail Khan appeared and fired a volley of bullets at them. All but one, Assistant Police Inspector Jadhav, died.

नाथूराम प्रेमी

नाथूराम प्रेमी (अंग्रेज़ी: Nathuram Premi ; जन्म- 26 नवम्बर, 1881, मध्य प्रदेश; मृत्यु- 30 जनवरी, 1960, महाराष्ट्र) प्रसिद्ध लेखक, कवि, भाषाविद और सम्पादक थे। वे अपनी रचनाएँ 'प्रेमी' उपनाम से लिखते थे। नाथूराम जी ने संस्कृत, बंगला, मराठी और गुजराती भाषाओं का अच्छा ज्ञान प्राप्त किया। उन्होंने मौलिक ग्रंथों के प्रकाशन के साथ-साथ भारतीय भाषाओं, विशेषत: बंगला के मूर्धन्य साहित्यकारों की रचनाओं के अनुवाद प्रकाशित करके हिन्दी के भंडार को भरने का सराहनीय कार्य सम्पन्न किया था।

Samyuktha Varma (born 26 November 1979) is an Indian actress who has predominantly appeared in Malayalam films from 1999 to 2002 in female lead roles. She made her debut in 1999 as heroine in the family-drama Veendum Chila Veettukaryangal for which she won her first Kerala State Film Award for Best Actress, since then she has acted in a total of 18 films. In 2000 she acted in Nadanpennum Naattupramaaniyum directed by Rajasenan, Fazil's production Life is Beautiful, Angane Oru Avadhikaalathu directed by Mohan, Mazha directed by Lenin Rajendran based on a short story by Madhavikutty, Madhuranombarakaattu and Swayamvarapanthal.

At the end of 2002, she was cast in Rafi-Mecartin's Thenkasi Pattanam and Rajasenan's Megasandesam.

The Indian Space Research Organisation is all set to launch PSLV C 54 with Earth obeservation satellite Oceansat and eight other nano satellites in two different orbits today.   The 24 hour count down for the launch which commenced yesterday at the launch Centre will end today enabling a smooth lift  off.  The propellant filling process took place at the four stage launch vehicle. Scientists at ISRO are busy monitoring  last minute tests for a successful launch.

Moving onto our segment G20 in India: The Indian City of Lakes, Udaipur in Rajasthan is gearing up to host the first G20 Sherpa Meeting in India from 4th to 7th of December. Meanwhile, the G-20 delegation has arrived in Port Blair for  interactive briefing for the Heads of Missions of G20 countries in India. The G-20 delegation received warm welcome in Port Blair yesterday. Soon after their arrival, the delegation visited the National Memorial Cellular Jail. Former Foreign Secretary and G20 chief co-ordinator Harshvardhan Singhla and G20 Sherpa Amitabh Kant are part of the delegation. It is a moment of immense pride for the entire nation as the journey of G20 India presidency begins at Cellular Jail, Port Blair. In a tweet, Mr Kant remarked that we commemorate the valour and service of all our unsung freedom fighters who were imprisoned in this Cellular Jail and salute their invaluable contribution towards India. The briefing of G20 will be held today at Swaraj Dweep. India will take over G20 Presidency on 1st December, this year.

Centre has formed a panel to revamp the Mahatma Gandhi National Rural Employment Guarantee Scheme (MGNREGS). Sources said the panel set up by the Rural Development Ministry, will recommend institutional mechanisms  for more effective utilisation of fund of the scheme. The panel will examine expenditure trend across various states and identify reasons for variations.
