प्रधानमंत्री नरेन्‍द्र मोदी आज से गुजरात के दो दिन के दौरे पर रहेंगे। इस दौरान प्रधानमंत्री अनेक ढांचागत और विकास परियोजनाओं की आधारशिला रखेंगे। इन परियोजनाओं पर 29 हजार करोड रुपये से अधिक की लागत आएगी। दिन में 11 बजे श्री मोदी सूरत में तीन हजार 4 सौ करोड़ रुपये से अधिक की कई विकास परियाजनाओं का लोकार्पण करेंगे और आधारशिला रखेंगे। इसके बाद, वे भावनगर में पांच हजार 2 सौ करोड़ रुपये से अधिक की विकास परियोजनाओं का शुभारम्‍भ करेंगे और आधारशिला रखेंगे।

The Prime Minister will inaugurate the 36th National Games at a grand Opening Ceremony to be held at the Narendra Modi stadium in Ahmedabad today. Mr Modi will also address athletes from across the country taking part in the National Games. Union Youth Affairs and Sports Minister Anurag Singh Thakur and other dignitaries will attend the opening ceremony.National Games are being held in the state of Gujarat for the very first time. It will begin today and will continue till 12th October. Nearly 15 thousand sportspersons, coaches, and officials from across the country will be participating in 36 sports disciplines, making it the biggest National Games ever. The sporting events will be organised in six cities of Ahmedabad, Gandhinagar, Surat, Vadodara, Rajkot and Bhavnagar. At around 9 PM, the Prime Minister will attend the Navratri Festival at GMDC ground in Ahmedabad.

मंत्रिमंडल ने प्रधानमंत्री गरीब कल्याण अन्न योजना को इस साल अक्टूबर से दिसंबर तक और तीन महीने के लिए बढ़ाने को स्‍वीकृति दे दी है। सूचना और प्रसारण मंत्री अनुराग ठाकुर ने बताया कि देश भर में इस योजना के लगभग 80 करोड़ लाभार्थी है। इसे अप्रैल 2020 में लागू किया गया था। इस योजना के अन्‍तर्गत प्रतिमाह प्रत्‍येक लाभार्थी को पांच किलोग्राम अनाज निशुल्‍क दिया जाता है।

Defence Minister Rajnath Singh will visit forward posts in Arunachal Pradesh today to make on-ground assessment of the operational preparedness and interact with troops. The Defence Minister is on a three-day visit to Assam and Arunachal Pradesh during which he is scheduled to visit the frontline locations. Mr Singh is accompanied by Army Chief, General Manoj Pande along with other senior officers. During his visit, the Defence Minister will also interact with members of second religious expedition to Athu Popu, an annual trek of local Idu Mishmi tribe which is being facilitated by Indian Army since 2021 as part of outreach and continued efforts towards supporting the locals and development of tourism. He will also review infrastructure projects of Border Roads Organisation (BRO).

युवा कार्य और खेल मंत्री अनुराग सिंह ठाकुर पहली अक्तूबर को स्वच्छ भारत कार्यक्रम के दूसरे चरण का शुभारंभ करेंगे। एक महीने चलने वाला राष्ट्र व्यापी कार्यक्रम लोगों में स्वच्छता के प्रति जागरूकता पैदा करने और मुख्य रूप से एकल उपयोग प्लास्टिक सहित कचरा एकत्र करने के उद्देश्य से चलाया जाएगा। नई दिल्ली में कल मीडिया से बातचीत में युवा कार्य और खेल मंत्रालय के सचिव संजय कुमार ने कहा कि नागरिकों की स्वैच्छिक भागीदारी और सहयोग से प्लास्टिक और ई-प्लास्टिक सहित एक करोड़ किलोग्राम कचरा इकट्ठा करके उसका निस्तारण किया जाएगा। उन्होंने कहा कि देशभर के गांवों में इस कार्यक्रम का आयोजन किया जाएगा।

The Government has appointed Lieutenant General Anil Chauhan (Retired) as the next Chief of Defence Staff (CDS). Lieutenant General Chauhan will also function as Secretary, Department of Military Affairs with effect from the date of his assumption of charge. In a career spanning over nearly 40 years, Lieutenant General Anil Chauhan held several command, staff and instrumental appointments and had extensive experience in counter-insurgency operations in Jammu and Kashmir and North-East India. The post of Chief of Defence Staff has been lying vacant since death of General Bipin Rawat in a helicopter crash on 8th December last year.

विदेश मंत्री सुब्रह्मण्यम जयशंकर ने कल वाशिंगटन में अमरीकी राष्ट्रीय खुफिया निदेशक एवरिल हैन्स के साथ मुलाकात की। दोनों नेताओं ने द्विपक्षीय रणनीतिक साझेदारी को बढ़ावा देने के लिए मिलकर काम करने के तरीकों पर चर्चा की। श्री जयशंकर वाशिंगटन की चार दिवसीय आधिकारिक यात्रा पर हैं। इससे पहले उन्होंने कल अमरीका के राष्ट्रीय सुरक्षा सलाहकार जेक सालेवन से  भेंट की। दोनों नेताओं ने यूक्रेन युद्ध और क्षेत्र में चीन के दखल के अलावा हिंद-प्रशांत क्षेत्र सहित कई मुद्दों पर चर्चा की।

In Cricket, India beat South Africa by eight wickets in the first T20 International of three-match series at the Greenfield International Stadium in Thiruvananthapuram, yesterday. Chasing 107 runs set by visitors, India overhauled the target, posting 110 for the loss of two wickets in 16.4 overs. KL Rahul and Suryakumar Yadav smashed unbeaten fifties helped India in achieving the target. Puting into bat first, South Africa scored 106 runs for the loss of eight wickets in the stipulated 20 overs. For India, Arshdeep Singh bagged three wickets, while Deepak Chahar and Harshal Patel took two each. The second T-20 International will be played at Barsapara Cricket Stadium in Guwahati on Sunday, 2nd October.

Two Korean naval ships named ROKS Hansando and ROKS Daecheong arrived at Chennai Port yesterday as part of their voyage to cover nine countries and ten ports in the Indo Pacific Region. This is the third visit of these ships to Chennai following their earlier visits in 2014 and 2015. The ships are scheduled to leave on 1st October. The Naval ships led by Rear Admiral Kang Dong goo began their 110 day long voyage on September 2 to cover Vietnam, Malaysia, India, Indonesia, Papua New Guinea, Australia, New Zealand, Fiji and the US. Admiral Kang Dong Goo said that Chennai was the home for 4000 strong Korean Community and around 2000 Korean companies. He noted that this was because of the bilateral relationship between Korea and India. A total of 470 Korean Navy personnel are onboard the ships.

Karnataka Chief Minister Basavaraj Bommai released the revised state Tourism Policy for the year 2020-26 on the occasion of World Tourism Day. Speaking on the occasion, the Chief Minister said that annual tourist footfall to the state will have to increase from the present 30 lakh to one crore footfalls in the next three years. He also added that the Hotel industry must provide best facilities to the tourists visiting the state. He laid emphasis on promoting temple tourism and nature tourism.

In Telangana, health authorities have seized about 80 hospitals and issued notices to over 400 hospitals across the state to ensure quality healthcare services. The health department carried out inspections at over 1500 private hospitals, laboratories, consultation rooms, small clinics, AYUSH hospitals and quacks. During the inspections, the health department issued notices to 416 hospitals, clinics and diagnostic centres and a total of 64 private health facilities were levied penalty for various discrepancies detected under the Clinical Establishments Act.

दिल्‍ली नगर निगम ने कल केंद्रीय लोक निर्माण विभाग, लोक निर्माण विभाग, दिल्‍ली जल बोर्ड, डीडीए, दिल्‍ली पुलिस, व्‍यापार संगठनों और प्रदेश के सभी हितधारकों को पत्र लिखकर मच्‍छरों के प्रजनन को रोकने के लिए प्रभावी उपाय अपनाने का आग्रह किया है। दिल्‍ली नगर निगम ने बताया कि वह जलजनित बीमारियों की रोकथाम के लिए निरंतर प्रयास कर रहा है। जिसके तहत एक रैपिड रिस्‍पांस टीम का गठन किया गया है। निगम ने बताया कि जनस्‍वास्‍थ्‍य विभाग के कर्मचारियों ने मच्‍छरों के प्रजनन की जांच के लिए लगभग ढाई करोड बार घर-घर जाकर निरीक्षण किया है। निगम ने यह भी बताया कि जांच के दौरान मच्‍छरों का प्रजनन पाए जाने पर 91 हजार से ज्‍यादा लोगों को  नोटिस जारी किए गए और लगभग 33 हजार चालान किए गए।

दिल्‍ली नगर निगम और भारतीय सौर ऊर्जा ने राजधानी में सौर ऊर्जा परियोजनाओं की स्‍थापना के लिए एक समझौता ज्ञापन पर हस्‍ताक्षर किए। दिल्‍ली नगर निगम के अधिकार क्षेत्र में स्‍थापित होने वाली सौर ऊर्जा परियोजना की सहायता से राजधानी की दैनिक बिजली मांग को काफी हद तक पूरा किया जा सकेगा। निगम के अधिकार क्षेत्र में लगभग 18 सौ ऐसे भवन हैं जहां विस्‍तरित सर्वेक्षण के बाद छत पर सौर ऊर्जा संयंत्र लगाए जा सकते हैं।

दिल्‍ली के उपमुख्‍यमंत्री मनीष सिसोदिया ने कल कश्‍मीरी गेट स्थित ऐतिहासिक कुदसिया बाग में कला, संस्‍कृति और भाषा विभाग द्वारा आयोजित शहीद भगत सिंह के जीवन पर आधारित मेंकिंग ऑफ ए रेवोल्‍यूशनरी नामक प्रदर्शिनी का उद्घाटन किया। भगत सिंह के जन्‍म दिवस के अवसर पर आयोजित इस प्रदर्शिनी में श्री सिसोदिया ने कहा कि भगत सिंह का पूरा जीवन सभी के लिए प्रेरणा का स्रोत है।कुदसिया बाग में यह निशुल्‍क प्रदर्शिनी प्रतिदिन सुबह दस बजे से शाम साढे पांच बजे तक एक महीने तक चलेगी।

महाराष्ट्र के उपमुख्यमंत्री देवेंद्र फडणवीस ने मुंबई के छत्रपति शिवाजी महाराज टर्मिनस के पुनर्विकास को मंजूरी देने के लिए केंद्र और प्रधानमंत्री नरेंद्र मोदी को धन्यवाद दिया है। एक ट्वीट में, श्री फडणवीस ने कहा कि पुनर्विकास योजना से यात्रा और माल परिवहन में बहुत आसानी होगी। प्रस्तावित परिवर्तन का एक वीडियो ट्वीट करते हुए, श्री फडणवीस ने कहा कि पुनर्विकास अगले चार वर्षों में मॉड्यूलर तकनीक का उपयोग करके और विरासत संरचना को बनाये रखते हुए किया जाएगा। केंद्रीय मंत्रिमंडल ने कल लगभग दस हजार करोड़ रुपये के कुल निवेश के साथ नई दिल्ली, अहमदाबाद और मुंबई रेलवे स्टेशनों के पुनर्विकास को मंजूरी दी थी। पुनर्विकास योजना के अनुसार, प्रत्येक स्टेशन में खुदरा, कैफेटेरिया, मनोरंजन सुविधाओं के लिए सभी यात्री सुविधाओं के साथ एक विशाल प्लाजा होगा। आगमन और प्रस्थान की अलग-अलग सेुविधा के साथ शहर के दोनों किनारों को स्टेशन से जोड़ा जाएगा।

कोलकाता में अपनी तरह का पहला हैल्‍थ कैफे खोला गया है।  दक्षिण कोलकाता में शुरू किये गये इस कैफे में स्वास्थ्य अनुकूल व्‍यंजन परोसे जायेगें। स्वादिष्ट होने के साथ ही शरीर के वजन के अनुसार इन व्‍यंजनों की कैलोरी क्षमता का भी ध्‍यान रखा गया है। यह अनोखा कैफे अपने ग्राहकों की शारीरिक और आहार संबंधी आवश्यकताओ को ध्यान में रखते हुए डाइट चार्ट भी उपलब्‍ध करता है। इस कैफ में परोसे जाने वाले व्‍यंजनों में सोडियम की मात्रा कम से कम रखने के लिये सामान्य नमक के बजाय सेंधा नमक का उपयोग किया जाता है।

नालापत बालमणि अम्मा मृत्यु- 29 सितम्बर, 2004, कोच्चि मलयालम भाषा की प्रसिद्ध कवियित्री थीं। वे महादेवी वर्मा की समकालीन थीं, नालापत बालमणि अम्मा की गणना बीसवीं शताब्दी की चर्चित व प्रतिष्ठित मलयालम कवयित्रियों में की जाती है। आधुनिक मलयालम की सबसे सशक्त कवयित्रियों में से एक होने के कारण नालापत बालमणि अम्मा को "मलयालम साहित्य की दादी" कहा जाता है। उन्होंने 500 से अधिक कविताएँ लिखीं। मुख्य रचनाएँ 'गौरैया', 'कलकत्ते का काला कुटिया', 'अम्मा', 'मुथास्सी', 'मज़्हुवींट कथा' आदि।

के. सी. शिवशंकर- मृत्यु- 29 सितम्बर, 2020 प्रसिद्ध चित्रकार तथा कार्टूनिस्ट थे। उन्हें 'चंदा मामा' के नाम से भी लोग जानते हैं। 'विक्रम बेताल' की कहानियों को चंदामामा मैगजीन में चित्रित करने के बाद उन्हें देशभर में विशेष पहचान मिली थी। इसके अलावा के. सी. शिवशंकर ने और भी कई कार्टून्स चित्रित किए। उन्होंने 60 से ज्यादा सालों तक कला के क्षेत्र में अपना योगदान दिया। वर्ष 2021 में के. सी. शिवशंकर को मरणोपरान्त 'पद्मश्री' से सम्मानित किया गया।

चन्दामामा बच्चों और युवाओं पर केंद्रित एक लोकप्रिय मासिक पत्रिका थी, जिसमें भारतीय लोक कथाओं, पौराणिक और ऐतिहासिक घटनाओं पर आधारित कहानियां प्रकाशित होती थीं।

प्रसिद्ध फिल्‍म अभिनेता थे। उन्होंने करीब 250-300 फ़िल्मों में अभिनय किया।   टॉम ऑल्‍टर ने कई फ़िल्मों में काम किया, लेकिन अपने लुक की वजह से उन्हें ज्यादातर अंग्रेज़ अफसरों या विदेशी चरित्र का रोल मिला। 2008 में भारत सरकार द्वारा टॉम अल्टर को पद्म श्री से सम्मानित किया गया था।

Today is birthday of Mehmood Ali (29 September 1932 – 23 July 2004), popularly known simply as Mehmood, was an Indian actor, singer, director and producer best known for playing comic roles in Hindi films.

हिन्‍दी फ़िल्म जगत् के प्रसिद्ध हास्य अभिनेता थे। उनका पूरा नाम महमूद अली था। तीन दशक लम्बे कैरियर में उन्होंने 300 से ज़्यादा हिन्दी फ़िल्मों में काम किया। अपने बहुरंगीय किरदारों से दर्शकों को हँसाने और गंभीर भूमिका कर रुलाने वाले महमूद अभिनय के प्रति समर्पित थे। अपने बहुमुखी अभिनय और कला के प्रति समर्पण ने उन्हें बुलंदियाँ दी और उनको फ़िल्मफ़ेयर सहित कई पुरस्कारों का सम्मान मिला। उन्होंने कई फ़िल्मों में गीत ही नहीं गाये बल्कि फ़िल्मों का निर्माण और निर्देशन भी किया। मुख्य फ़िल्में 'प्यार किए जा', 'पड़ोसन', 'कुँवारा बाप'। छोटे नवाब", "भूतबंगला", "पड़ोसन", "बांबे टू गोवा", "दुश्मन दुनिया का", "सबसे बड़ा रुपैया"जैसे फिल्‍मों का निर्माण और निर्देशन किया।

Today is birth anniversary of  Khushbu Sundar (born Nakhat Khan; 29 September 1970) is an Indian actress, politician, film producer, and television presenter. She is known for her works predominantly in Tamil films, besides Telugu, Malayalam and Kannada films.
