NDA's Presidential candidate Droupadi Murmu will file her nomination today. She arrived in New Delhi yesterday ahead of the filing of her nomination. The former Jharkhand governor was received at the Delhi airport by union ministers G Kishan Reddy and Meenakshi Lekhi, along with several other BJP leaders. Ms Murmu met Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Vice President M. Venkaiah Naidu, Home Minister Amit Shah, Defence Minister Rajnath Singh, BJP President JP Nadda and several other top leaders of the ruling party in New Delhi. In a tweet, Prime Minister Narendra Modi said, Ms Murmu's  Presidential nomination has been appreciated across India by all sections of society. Mr Modi said Droupadi Murmu's understanding of grassroot problems and vision for India’s development is outstanding. Opposition candidate Yashwant Sinha will file his nomination on 27th of this month.   The last date for filing of nominations is June 29. The polls, if necessary, will be held on July 18 and the counting on July 21.

वाईएसआर कांग्रेस के अध्यक्ष और आंध्र प्रदेश के मुख्यमंत्री जगन मोहन रेड्डी ने एनडीए की राष्ट्रपति उम्मीदवार द्रौपदी मुर्मू को समर्थन दिया है। एक वक्तव्य में वाईएसआर कांग्रेस पार्टी ने कहा है कि जगन मोहन रेड्डी का यह मानना है कि यह निर्णय अनसूचित जाति, अनसूचित जनजाति, पिछडे वर्गों और अल्‍पसंख्‍यक समुदायों को सदैव प्रतिनिधित्‍व देने की उनकी प्रतिबद्धता के अनुरूप है। मुख्‍यमंत्री ने पिछले तीन वर्ष में इन समुदायों के उत्‍थान को बहुत महत्‍व दिया है और यह सुनिश्‍चित किया है कि इन समुदायों को मंत्रिमंडल में समुचित प्रतिनिधित्‍व मिले। वाईएसआर कांग्रेस के राज्‍यसभा सांसद विजयसाई रेड्डी और लोकसभा सांसद मिधुन रेड्डी, श्रीमती मुर्मू के नामांकन के समय उपस्थित रहेंगे।

Two more Shiv Sena legislators have joined the party's rebel leader Eknath Shinde in Guwahati. Earlier in the day, 5 more MLAs reached Guwahati. Last evening, the Eknath Shinde camp claimed that they have the support of at least 41 legislators. The rebel MLAs declared Mr. Shinde as their leader. Mr. Shinde held couple of meetings with his fellow legislators on future course of action yesterday. However, all the rebel legislators remained inside the hotel throughout the day and there was no access to outsiders in the hotel.

भारतीय वायु सेना में नई अग्निपथ योजना के अंतर्गत अग्निवीरों के पहले दल की भर्ती पंजीकरण प्रक्रिया आज से प्रारंभ हो रही है। इच्‍छुक उम्‍मीदवार आधिकारिक वेबसाइट agnipathvayu.cdac.in. पर भर्ती प्रक्रिया के लिए ऑनलाइन आवेदन कर सकते हैं।भारतीय वायु सेना की अधिसूचना के अनुसार अग्निवीरों के लिए ऑनलाइन पंजीकरण सुबह दस बजे प्रारंभ होगा। प्रवेश की योग्‍यता और परीक्षा प्रक्रिया में कोई परिवर्तन नहीं किया गया है। वायु सेना में सभी नामांकन अग्निवीर वायु के माध्‍यम से किए जाएंगे। ऑनलाइन परीक्षा 24 जुलाई से 31 जुलाई के बीच देशभर में 250 केन्‍द्रों पर आयोजित की जाएगी। भर्ती प्रक्रिया इस वर्ष के अंत तक पूरी हो जायेगी। थल सेना और नौसेना पहली जुलाई से पंजीकरण प्रक्रिया शुरू करेंगे।

Jammu and Kashmir will host the 2023 meetings of the G20, an influential group of the world's major economies. J&K government has set up a five-member high-level committee for overall coordination of G20 meetings to be held in the Union Territory. Commerce and Industry Minister Piyush Goyal was appointed as India's Sherpa for the G20 in September 2021. According to the Ministry of External Affairs, India will hold the G-20 presidency from December 1, 2022, and convene the first G20 leaders' summit in 2023. India's representation at G20 summits has been led by Prime Minister Modi since 2014. The G20 countries include Argentina, Australia, Brazil, Canada, China, Germany, France, India, Indonesia, Italy, Japan, Mexico, Russia, Saudi Arabia, South Africa, South Korea, Turkey, the United States and the United Kingdom.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi has said that Centre is continuously monitoring the flood situation in Assam and is working closely with the state government to provide all possible assistance. Over the last few days, parts of Assam have witnessed flooding due to heavy rainfall. In a series of tweets, Mr Modi said Army and NDRF teams are present in the flood affected areas. He said they are conducting evacuation operations and assisting those who are affected. The Air Force has conducted over 250 sorties as a part of the evacuation process. Mr Modi said Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma, Ministers of the Assam Government and officials are working round the clock in the districts and helping those who have suffered. He prayed for the safety and wellbeing of all those in affected areas and assured all possible support.

Chasing the target of 139 runs, the hosts were reduced to 27 for three within seven overs. They scored 104 for five in the stipulated 20 overs. Next match will also be played in Dambulla tomorrow.

The Tamil Nadu Government is planning a mega vaccination camp against Covid-19 infections on the 10th of next month. The state health minister Ma.Subramanian told reporters in Chennai yesterday, the camps will be held in one lakh locations across the state. He said the BA.4 and BA.5 variants of the Omicron virus are the dominant strains that spread the infection this time. However, he said 92 percent of the patients have isolated themselves in their homes, adding, the requirements for oxygen cannulas or inpatient treatments is very minimal.

The Government of Karnataka will constitute an international award in memory of  Nadaprabhu Kempe Gowda, the founder chieftain of Bengaluru. The Ramanagara district incharge minister and Vice President of Nadaprabhu Kempe Gowda Heritage Area Development Authority, Dr. C N Ashwath Narayana announced this in Magadi yesterday. Three achievers in different fields will be rewarded with a cash award of five lakh rupees each. Speaking at the 513th Birth Anniversary of Kempe Gowda, the minister said that the historical fort built by Kempe Gowda will be renovated and conserved for posterity. The places of historical relevance with relation to Kempe Gowda such as Savandurga, Huliyurudurga will be developed on priority. He also said that the birth anniversary of Kempe Gowda will be celebrated on June of 27th.

Telangana and other states have been advised to stop the illegal treatment of animals ahead of Eid-al-Adha. Following an appeal by the People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals (PETA) India, the Animal Welfare Board of India (AWBI), a Central government statutory body, has issued the advisory to all States and union territories in this regard. The AWBI in its advisory, stated that the Transport Animals Rules, 1978, which prescribe the number of animals that can be transported in a vehicle, is widely violated and that large numbers of animals are expected to be transported for Eid. The advisory also refered to the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals (Slaughter House) Rules, 2001, which stated that no person shall slaughter any animal within a municipal area, except in a slaughterhouse recognised or licensed by the authority empowered. It further stated that camels are not permitted to be killed under the Food Safety and Standards Authority of India’s regulation.

दिल्‍ली के उपमुख्यमंत्री और लोक निर्माण विभाग मंत्री मनीष सिसोदिया ने कल लगातार तीसरे दिन दिल्ली की सड़कों का औचक निरीक्षण जारी रखा| लोक निर्माण विभाग मंत्री ने विधानसभा से लेकर चंदगीराम अखाड़े तक की सड़क का विभाग के उच्चाधिकारियों के साथ निरीक्षण किया|   निरीक्षण के दौरान श्री सिसोदिया ने पाया की पुराने निर्माण के कारण मौजूदा सड़क की उपरी सतह पर कई जगह दरार है साथ ही कई जगह सड़क के ऊपर से मार्किंग हट रही है| इस बाबत उन्होंने अधिकारियों को निर्देश दिए कि सड़क में और ज्यादा दरारें आए उससे पहले सड़क का सुदृढ़ीकरण किया जाए  ताकि सड़क पर आवाजाही करने वाले लोगों के लिए ये परेशानी का सबब न बनें| उन्होंने सडक की उपरी सतह को हटाकर उसपर नई सतह बिछाये जाने के निर्देश दिये। उपमुख्यमंत्री ने अधिकारियों से कहा कि दिल्ली में सड़कों को बनाते समय उसकी मजबूती के साथ-साथ सड़क के सौंदर्यीकरण का भी ख़ास ख्याल रखा जाए।

महाराष्ट्र के स्कूल शिक्षा मंत्री वर्षा गायकवाड़ ने गुरुवार को मिशन जीरो ड्रॉप आउट की घोषणा की। उन्‍होंने कहा कि राज्य सरकार ने प्रत्येक बच्चे को शिक्षा का अधिकार सुनिश्चित करने के लिए यह अभियान शुरू किया है। उन्होंने कहा कि इसका उद्देश्य स्कूली शिक्षा को पटरी पर लाना है। शिक्षा मंत्री ने मीडिया और समाज से इस अभियान में भाग लेने की अपील की है।

पश्चिम बंगाल सरकार ने सभी जिला प्रशासनों को यह देखने के लिए आगाह किया है कि कोविड और पोलियो टीकाकरण कार्यक्रमों को लागू करने में कोई लापरवाही न हो। राज्य के स्वास्थ्य सचिव नारायण स्वरूप निगम ने हाल ही में जिलाधिकारियों और मुख्य चिकित्सा अधिकारियों के साथ वर्चुअल बैठक में इस संबंध में संबंधित अधिकारियों को चेतावनी दी है. उल्लेखनीय है कि हाल ही में राज्य में पोलियो वायरस पाया गया था। कोविड का संक्रमण भी बढ़ रहा है। इसी सिलसिले में यह कदम उठाया जा रहा है।

मुम्बई की बात करें तो मुम्बई में भारी बारिश के साथ आम तौर पर बादल छाए रहेंगे। न्‍यूनतम तापमान 24 डिग्री और अधिकतम तापमान 32 डिग्री सेल्सियस के बीच रहने की संभावना है।

कोलकाता में आम तौर पर बादल छाए रहेंगे और एक या दो बार बारिश या गरज के साथ बौछारें पड़ सकती हैं। न्‍यूनतम तापमान 26 और अधिकतम 33 डिग्री सेल्सियस रहने के आसार है।

अब हम बात करते हैं उन हस्तियों की जिनकी आज पुण्‍यतिथि है या फिर जन्‍मदिवस है।

आज पुण्‍य तिथि है दरबान सिंह नेगी की। दरबान सिंह नेगी का जन्म- 4 मार्च, 1883 का हुआ था।  वे प्रथम विश्व युद्ध के दौरान उन चंद भारतीय सैनिकों में से एक थे, जिन्हें ब्रिटिश राज का सबसे बड़ा युद्ध पुरस्कार "विक्टोरिया क्रॉस" मिला था। दरबान सिंह नेगी करीब 33 साल के थे और 39th गढ़वाल राइफल्स की पहली बटालियन में नायक के पद पर तैनात थे। 23-24 नवंबर, 1914 को उनकी रेजिमेंट ने दुश्मन से फेस्टुबर्ट के करीब ब्रिटिश खदंकों पर फिर से क़ब्ज़ा करने की कोशिश की। इस युद्ध के दौरान उनकी भूमिका के लिए उनको 'विक्टोरिया क्रॉस' से सम्मानित किया गया।

Today is death anniversary of Sanjukta Panigrahi, She was a dancer from India, who was the foremost exponent of Indian classical dance Odissi. Sanjukta was the first Odia woman to embrace this ancient classical dance at an early age and ensure its grand revival. In recognition of her contribution to dancing and associated activities, she was honoured with one of India's highest civilian awards the, Padma Shri (1975). She is also recipient of the Sangeet Natak Akademi Award in 1976.Apart from presenting Odissi performances in different parts of India, Sanjukta Panigrahi has been a part of Government's cultural delegation to different countries, including to the US and the Philippines (1969), United Kingdom (1983), Israel, Delphi International Festival in Greece (1989). She has also performed in France for eleven weeks, and participated there in the International Music Festival at Paris.

आज पुण्‍य तिथि है रानी दुर्गावती की। रानी दुर्गावती का जन्म 5 अक्टूबर, 1524 को हुआ था। (मृत्यु: 24 जून, 1564)  वे गोंडवाना की शासक थीं, जो भारतीय इतिहास की सर्वाधिक प्रसिद्ध रानियों में गिनी जाती हैं। दुर्गावती ने 16 वर्ष तक जिस कुशलता से राज संभाला, उसकी प्रशस्ति इतिहासकारों ने की है। आइना-ए-अकबरी में अबुल फ़ज़ल ने लिखा है- "दुर्गावती के शासनकाल में गोंडवाना इतना सुव्यवस्थित और समृद्ध था कि प्रजा लगान की अदायगी स्वर्णमुद्राओं और हाथियों से करती थी।"

Today we also remembering Pandit Omkarnath Thakur on his birth anniversary He  was an Indian music teacher, musicologist and Hindustani classical singer. A disciple of classical singer Vishnu Digambar Paluskar of Gwalior gharana, he became the principal of Gandharva Mahavidyalaya, Lahore, and later went on become the first dean of the music faculty at Banaras Hindu University.He also wrote book "sangeetanjli" vol 1 to 6

ओंकारनाथ के दादा महाशंकर जी और पिता गौरीशंकर जी नाना साहब पेशवा की सेना के वीर योद्धा थे। एक बार उनके पिता का सम्पर्क अलोनीबाबा के नाम से विख्यात एक योगी से हुआ। इन महात्मा से दीक्षा लेने के बाद से गौरीशंकर के परिवार की दिशा ही बदल गई। वे प्रणव-साधना अर्थात् ओंकार के ध्यान में रहने लगे। तभी 24 जून, 1897 को उनकी चौथी सन्तान ने जन्म लिया। ओंकार-भक्त पिता ने पुत्र का नाम ओंकारनाथ रखा।

आज जन्‍म दिवस है मास्टर तारा सिंह का। मास्‍टर तारा सिंह का जन्म- 24 जून, 1885 को रावलपिण्डी, पंजाब में हुआ था। वे प्रसिद्ध सिक्ख नेता थे, जिन्होंने प्रथम विश्वयुद्ध के समय सिक्खों को सेना में भर्ती होने के लिए प्रेरित किया। इसी के परिणामस्वरूप ब्रिटिश सरकार ने 1919 ई. के 'इण्डिया एक्ट' में मुस्लिमों की भांति सिक्खों को भी पृथक् साम्प्रदायिक प्रतिनिधित्व प्रदान किया था। तारा सिंह एक सिक्ख नेता होने के साथ-साथ पत्रकार और लेखक भी थे। इन्होंने राष्ट्रपिता महात्मा गाँधी के 'सविनय अवज्ञा आन्दोलन' का भी समर्थन किया था। उन्‍होंने लायलपुर के स्कूल में प्रधान अध्यापक का कार्य किया था, जिस कारण इनके नाम के साथ 'मास्टर' शब्द हमेशा के लिए जुड़ गया।

Today is the 88th birthday of Anita Desai, an Indian novelist and the Emerita John E. Burchard Professor of Humanities at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology. As a writer, she has been shortlisted for the Booker Prize three times. She received a Sahitya Akademi Award in 1978 for her novel Fire on the Mountain, from the Sahitya Akademi, India's National Academy of Letters. In 1993, her novel "In Custody" was adapted by Merchant Ivory Productions into an English film by the same name, directed by Ismail Merchant, with a screenplay by Shahrukh Husain. It won the 1994 President of India Gold Medal for Best Picture and stars Shashi Kapoor, Shabana Azmi and Om Puri.

Today also the birth anniversary of Atul Agnihotri. He started his Bollywood career as an actor, went on to direct two films, and found success as a film producer. He is best known for his debut film Sir (1993), which was the most notable film of his career and featured him as the lead protagonist. His other notable films were Aatish: Feel the Fire (1994) and Krantiveer (1994).

आज जन्‍म दिवस है प्रसिद्ध भारतीय लेखक और इतिहासकार विश्वनाथ काशीनाथ राजवाडे का। उनका जन्म- 24 जून, 1863, को महाराष्ट्र में हुआ था। वे प्रसिद्ध भारतीय लेखक, इतिहासकार, श्रेष्ठ वक्ता और विद्वान थे। उन्हें 'इतिहासाचार्य राजवाडे' के नाम से ख्याति प्राप्त थी। संस्कृत और व्याकरण के भी वे प्रकांड पंडित थे, जिसका प्रमाण उनकी सुप्रसिद्ध कृतियों 'राजवाडे धातुकोश' तथा 'संस्कृत भाषेचा उलगडा' आदि में दिखाई देता है। विश्वनाथ काशीनाथ राजवाडे ने 'भारतीय विवाह संस्था का इतिहास' नामक प्रसिद्ध ग्रन्थ की रचना मराठी भाषा में की थी। ग्रन्थ इतिहासाचार्य राजवाडे के व्यापक अध्ययन और चिन्तन की एक अनूठी उपलब्धि है।

आज जन्‍म दिवस है अभिनेत्री विजयाशांति का। वे भारतीय फिल्म अभिनेत्री, निर्माता और राजनीतिज्ञ हैं। उन्‍होंने अपने फिल्मी करियर के लगभग 30 साल के सफर में सौ से भी अधिक फिल्मों में अभिनय किया है। इन्होंने कई भाषाओं की फिल्मों में काम किया है, जिसमें तेलुगी, तमिल, मलयालम, कन्नड़ और हिन्दी शामिल है। इन्हें दक्षिण भारतीय फिल्मों की "द लेडी सुपरस्टार" और "लेडी अमिताभ" के नाम से भी जाना जाता है। इन्हें कर्तव्यम (1990) फिल्म में अपने "सुपर कोप" वाले किरदार के कारण सर्वश्रेष्ठ अभिनेत्री के रूप में राष्ट्रीय फिल्म पुरस्कार भी मिल चुका है। इन्हें कुल सात फिल्मफेयर पुरस्कार मिल चुका है, जिसमें से 6 पुरस्कार सर्वश्रेष्ठ अभिनय के कारण तो एक पुरस्कार 2003 में इनके जीवन भर के कार्यों के लिए दिया गया था।
