राष्ट्रपति रामनाथ कोविंद देश के 73वें गणतंत्र दिवस की पूर्व संध्या पर आज राष्ट्र को संबोधित करेंगे। राष्ट्रपति का संबोधन शाम सात बजे से आकाशवाणी के समूचे राष्ट्रीय नेटवर्क और दूरदर्शन के सभी चैनलों से, पहले हिन्‍दी और फिर अंग्रेजी में प्रसारित किया जाएगा। हिंदी और अंग्रेजी प्रसारण के तुरंत बाद दूरदर्शन के क्षेत्रीय चैनलों से प्रादेशिक भाषाओं में इसका प्रसारण होगा। आकाशवाणी से क्षेत्रीय नेटवर्क पर प्रादेशिक भाषाओं में राष्‍ट्रपति के संबोधन का प्रसारण रात साढे नौ बजे किया जाएगा।

The process of filing nominations for the third Phase of Assembly polls in Uttar Pradesh and the Single-Phase Elections in Punjab will begin today with the issuance of notification. Uttar Pradesh is going to polls in seven phases from 10th of February to 7th of March. The Third Phase of polling in Uttar Pradesh will be conducted on 20th of February in 59 Assembly Constituencies from 16 districts including 15 seats reserved for the Scheduled Castes. In addition, the Single-Phase polling in Punjab for 117 assembly constituencies will be held simultaneously on 20th of next month. The last date for filing of nomination papers for the third phase of Assembly polls in Uttar Pradesh and Single-Phase Elections in Punjab is 1st of February. The scrutiny of papers will be undertaken on 2nd of February. The last date for withdrawal of candidature will be 4th of February.

The Samajwadi Party has released a list of 159 candidates for the upcoming assembly polls in Uttar Pradesh. Some of the prominent names in the list include, Party chief Akhilesh Yadav, who will contest from Karhal assembly constituency in Mainpuri district, Azam Khan from Rampur assembly seat, Abdullah Azam Khan from Suar and Shivpal Singh Yadav from Jaswantnagar assembly constituency in Etawah district. Meanwhile, the Congress has announced its 30 star campaigners for the first phase of assembly elections in the state. The names include party chief Sonia Gandhi, former Prime Minister Dr Manmohan Singh, party leaders Rahul Gandhi, Priyanka Gandhi Vadra, Ghulam Nabi Azad, Ashok Gehlot and Bhupesh Baghel among others.

देश में अब तक 162 करोड़ 77 लाख से अधिक कोविड रोधी टीके लगाए जा चुके हैं। स्‍वास्‍थ्‍य मंत्रालय ने बताया कि कल 49 लाख 52 हजार से अधिक टीके लगाए गए। अब तक 87 लाख 33 हजार से अधिक ऐहतियाती डोज पात्र श्रेणी के लोगों को लगाए गए हैं।

Border Security Force (BSF) will start boat ambulance service from Swabhiman Anchal zone in Malkangiri district of Odisha from tomorrow on the occasion of Republic Day. Addressing a press conference at Raipur in Chhattisgarh yesterday, Additional Director General of BSF and Chief of Chhattisgarh-Odisha Region, RS Bhatti said that about thirty thousand people living in around 150 villages of the area will be benefited from this initiative.

India and Israel have launched a commemorative logo to mark the 30th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic ties between the two countries. The logo was unveiled virtually yesterday at an online event in the presence of Ambassador of Israel to India Naor Gilon and Indian envoy to Israel, Sanjeev Singla.  The logo features the Star of David and the Ashoka Chakra- the two symbols that adorn the national flags of both countries- and forms the numeral 30 depicting the 30th anniversary of bilateral relations.

भारत महिला एशिया कप हॉकी टूर्नामेंट के सेमीफाइनल में पहुंच गया है। मस्‍कट में, कल रात, मौजूदा चैंपियन भारत ने पूल-ए के अपने अंतिम मैच में सिंगापुर को हराकर सेमीफाइनल में जगह बनाई। इस जीत के साथ ही भारत ने स्‍पेन और नीदरलैंड्स की मेजबानी में इस वर्ष होने वाले महिला हॉकी विश्‍वकप में भी जगह बना ली है। सेमीफाइनल में कल भारत का सामना कोरिया से होगा। भारत ने पहले मैच में मलेशिया को 9-0 से हराया था जबकि दूसरे मैच में भारत को जापान से 0-2 से हार का सामना करना पड़ा था। टूर्नामेंट का फाइनल बृहस्‍पतिवार को खेला जाएगा। इस टूर्नामेंट की शीर्ष चार टीमें इस वर्ष होने वाले हॉकी विश्‍वकप के लिए क्‍वालीफाई कर चुकी हैं।

India's opening batter Smriti Mandhana has been named the ICC Women's Cricketer of the Year for 2021. The International Cricket Council (ICC) made the announcement yesterday. Smriti has won the Rachael Heyhoe-Flint Trophy awarded to the ICC Women's Cricketer of the year for the second time after 2018.

Smriti has also become the second women's cricketer after Australia's Ellyse Perry to win the honour more than once.

Karnataka has reported 46,426 new Covid cases and 32 deaths yesterday. At the same time around 41 thousand persons recovered from the infection. There are 3,62,487 active Covid cases now. Karnataka has achieved 100 percent first dose and 85.3 percent second dose vaccination of the eligible adult population.

The Bengaluru International Airport has achieved record Cargo and passenger volume during the last year. As compared to the year 2020, the cargo volume growth last year was 28.6 percent. The passenger air travel also saw a growth of 18.9 percent last year. The airport recorded the highest ever domestic air connectivity. Despite a turbulent pandemic environment, the Kempegowda International Airport processed an all time high tonnage of over four lakh metric tonnes of cargo and passenger movement of 16.07 million during last year. The Bengaluru airport has emerged as the number one airport in the country for perishable goods exports, accounting for 31 percent of India’s total perishable goods shipments.

Telangana state Women and Child Welfare Minister Satyavathi Rathore has inaugurated the permanent home of Sakhi Kendra, a one-stop centre for resolving all women's issues, on the occasion of National Girl Child Day in Mulugu district yesterday. The building was constructed at the cost of 49 lakh rupees. Under the Rural Transport Facilitation Scheme (Rural Transport Scheme), 10 transport vehicles worth 1 crore rupees were distributed to the beneficiaries. On the occasion the Minister later unveiled a Women's Helpline 181 poster. Speaking on the occasion, the minister said the government is giving the highest priority to girls' education and digital education in the institutions. She said 53 women's residential degree colleges were set up in the state.

District Collectors in Tamilnadu are involving youngsters and students in the development and policy making of the districts. Tiruvallur District Collector has announced a district development internship program for three months based at the district. Candidates from other district can also apply. A stipend of 10 thousand rupees will be paid to five interns. The candidates should specialize in a field such as law, engineering, social science, natural science and so on and have knowledge of public policy.

The Director of public health Dr.T.S. SelvaVinayagam said that among vaccinated people of all age groups, comorbidities, especially uncontrolled diabetes and hypertension, posed a greater threat during the pandemic. The medical reports of 1,411 people who died of Covid 19 between October 1 and January 16  this year showed that 811 people above 50 years of age had morbid conditions such as diabetes, hypertension, renal or heart diseases and cancer.

दिल्ली सरकार ने एग्रीगेटर स्कीम 2021 पर चर्चा और विचार-विमर्श के लिए कल एक वर्चुअल सम्‍मेलन का आयोजन किया। दिल्ली सरकार ने हाल ही में सवारी एग्रीगेटर्स और डिलीवरी सेवा क्षेत्रों में इलेक्ट्रिक वाहनों को अनिवार्य करने का निर्णय लिया है। इस सम्‍मेलन में एग्रीगेटर्स ने योजना से सम्बंधित विनियमन और संचालन के विभिन्न पहलुओं पर अपने विचार प्रस्तुत किए।

दिल्ली विधानसभा के भाजपा के विधायक आज उपराज्यपाल से मिलकर दिल्ली में ऑड-ईवन और सप्‍ताहांत कर्फ्यू जैसे कदमों को वापस लेने की मांग करेंगे। मुलाकात के दौरान विधायकगण, उपराज्‍यपाल से दिल्ली में कोरोना की स्थिति पर भी बातचीत करेंगे। विधानसभा में नेता प्रतिपक्ष रामवीर सिंह बिधूड़ी ने उपराज्यपाल को इस बारे में एक पत्र लिखा है। पत्र में कहा गया है कि दिल्ली में कोरोना पर नियंत्रण के नाम पर केजरीवाल सरकार ने जो नियम लागू किए हुए हैं उससे जनता को भारी परेशानी का सामना करना पड़ रहा है। पत्र में कहा गया है कि दिल्ली के बाजारों में ऑड-ईवन नियम लागू होने से व्यापारी वर्ग बुरी तरह प्रभावित है। सप्‍ताहांत कर्फ्यू भी लागू होने से सप्ताह में सिर्फ दो-तीन दिन के लिए ही दुकानें खुल पा रही हैं।

राजधानी में होने वाले गणतंत्र दिवस मुख्‍य समारोह के लिए दिल्‍ली पुलिस ने आम नागरिकों और आगंतुकों के लिए जरूरी दिशा-निेर्देश जारी किया है। दिल्‍ली पुलिस ने आगंतुकों से अनुरोध किया है कि वे समय पर समारोह स्‍थल पर पहुंचे। लोगों के बैठने के लिए ब्‍लॉक सुबह सात बजे खुलेंगे। आगंतुकों से अनुरोध किया गया है कि वे निधारित स्‍थान पर ही बैठें। लोगों को कोरोना रोधी वैक्‍सीन की दोनों डोज लगी होनी आवश्‍यक है और आगंतुक अपने टीकाकरण प्रमाणपत्र अपने साथ अवश्‍य लाएं। 15 वर्ष से कम आयु के बच्‍चों को कार्यक्रम में आने की अनुमति नहीं है। दिल्‍ली पुलिस ने आगंतुकों से अनुरोध किया है कि वे अपने साथ प्रवेशपत्र के साथ कोई भी वैद्ध पहचानपत्र जैसे- आधार कार्ड, वोटर कार्ड या ड्राइविंग लाइसेंस लाएं और सुरक्षा जांच में सहयोग करें।

राष्‍ट्रवादी कांग्रेस पार्टी-एनसीपी अध्यक्ष शरद पवार कोरोना संक्रमित हो गए हैं।  81 वर्षीय एन सी पी नेता ने एक ट्वीट में कहा कि वह अपने डॉक्टरों द्वारा सुझाए गए उपचार का पालन कर रहे हैं और चिंता की कोई बात नहीं है। श्री पवार ने पिछले कुछ दिनों में उनके संपर्क में आए लोगों से जांच कराने और आवश्यक सावधानी बरतने का अनुरोध किया है। उन्होंने यह भी बताया कि प्रधान मंत्री नरेंद्र मोदी ने उनके स्वास्थ्य के बारे में पूछताछ करने के लिए फोन किया था। श्री पवार ने चिंता और शुभकामनाओं के लिए उनका आभार व्यक्त किया।

पश्चिम बंगाल सरकार की स्कूलों को फिर से खोलने की योजना है लेकिन यह सुनिश्चित करने के बाद कि कोविड 19 महामारी के संदर्भ में बच्चे प्रभावित न हो।

हर समुदाय या पराई पराई शिक्षालय में स्कूलों के कार्यक्रम को सोमवार को शुरू करते हुए राज्य के शिक्षा मंत्री ब्रत्य बसु ने कहा कि मुख्यमंत्री ममता बनर्जी स्कूल खोलने पर अंतिम फैसला लेंगी। उन्‍होंने कहा कि स्थिति की समीक्षा की जा रही है और यह भी जरूरी किया जा रहा है कि स्कूलों को फिर से बंद न कर दिया जाए। शिक्षा मंत्री ने कहा कि राज्य सरकार और मुख्यमंत्री चाहते हैं कि चरण-बद्ध तरीके से स्कूलों को फिर से खोला जाए। पराई पराई शिक्षालय कार्यक्रम 7 फरवरी, 2022 से शुरू होगा जिसके अंतर्गत लगभग 60 लाख छात्र लाभान्वित होंगे।

तो पुण्यतिथियों में आज सबसे पहला नाम है भारत के प्रसिद्ध क्रांतिकारियों में से एक अनंता सिंह का जिनका पूरा नाम है अनंता लाल सिंह जिनका निधन 25 जनवरी, 1969 को हुआ था। वे अपने साथी क्रांतिकारियों में बम तथा बन्दूक की गोलियाँ आदि बनाने में कुशल थे।

पुण्यतिथियों में अगला नाम है विजयाराजे सिंधिया का जिनका निधन 25 जनवरी, 2001, ग्वालियर में हुआ था! इन्हें "ग्वालियर की राजमाता" के रूप में जाना जाता था। वैसे राजमाता विजयाराजे सिंधिया का जन्म 1919 ई. सागर, मध्य प्रदेश के राणा परिवार में हुआ था।

कार्यक्रम के अंतिम में अब हम जिनकी जानकारी देने जा रहे हैं उनका नाम है कविता कृष्णमूर्ति सुब्रमणियम और वे भारतीय सिनेमा की प्रसिद्ध पार्श्वगायिकाओं में से एक हैं। आपका जन्म 25 जनवरी, 1958, दिल्ली में हुआ था! जब वह मात्र आठ साल की थीं, तब एक गायन प्रतियोगिता में प्रथम पुरस्कार जीता था। तभी से एक मशहूर गायिका बनने का निश्चय उन्होंने कर लिया था।
