Delhi chief minister Arvind Kejriwal has announced lockdown from 10pm tonight till 5am next Monday. which will in another attempt to arrest the rising cases of the coronavirus disease (Covid-19) in the Capital. we appeal all living in Delhi to follow lockdown which is necessary to reduce Covid cases during which the govt intends to improve the health system of the state.


An appeal has also been made to the  migrant workers not to leave the city during this 'small lockdown'.


The lockdown will not finish the virus, but it will reduce the transmission rate. Keeping in mind the critical situation we all our going through.......


We appeal to our listeners not to lower the guard, take all the precautions and all those above 45 years to get vaccinated without any hesitation.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi is holding a meeting on COVID-19 situation with leading doctors from across the country. Later in the evening at 6 PM he will also hold a meeting with top pharma companies in the country to review the status of production and supply of crucial medicines.  Earlier in the day, Mr. Modi chaired an important meeting on the COVID related situation in the country. The third consecutive meeting by the Prime Minister in as many days was attended by senior officials of the Health Ministry along with officials from other departments. Mr. Modi reviewed the COVID & Vaccination situation in the country in a meeting which was held on Saturday. He also took stock of the situation of vaccination and covid pandemic in his parliamentary constituency Varanasi through a virtual meeting yesterday.

The Union Cabinet Secretary is holding a meeting with Chief Secretaries of 10 states and one Union Territory to discuss the issue of availability and supply of Medical Oxygen. Chief Secretaries and senior officials from the state of Maharashtra, Madhya Pradesh, Gujarat, Rajasthan, Chhattisgarh, Uttar Pradesh, Andhra Pradesh, Telangana, Tamil Nadu, Karnataka and from Union Territory of Delhi will be participating in the meeting.The Union Home Secretary had yesterday written to all states and union territories in the country to prohibit the supply of oxygen for Industrial purposes by manufacturers and suppliers.

In view of the prevailing Covid situation, the visit of UK Prime Minister Boris Johnson to India has been mutually postponed. Mr. Johnson was scheduled to visit the country later this month.  The External Affairs Ministry has informed that the two sides will be holding a virtual meeting in the coming days to launch plans for a transformed India-U.K. relationship.

Health and Family Welfare Minister Dr. Harshvardhan has said that India has launched the world's largest vaccination drive and also became the fastest in the world to reach the milestones of 10 to 12 crore administered doses. In a reply to the former Prime Minister Dr. Manmohan Singh's letter he said, the emphasis laid by Dr. Singh on vaccination as an important tool to fight COVID-19 is well taken by the Government. Dr. Harshvardhan said,history will be kinder to Dr Manmohan Singh if his offer of constructive cooperation and valuable advice was followed by the Congress leader in such an extraordinary time.

दिल्ली सरकार ने कोरोना संक्रमण के मामलों में तेजी से वृद्धि को रोकने के लिए राष्ट्रीय राजधानी में आज रात दस बजे से अगले सोमवार 26 अप्रैल की सुबह पांच बजे तक छह दिन के लॉकडाउन का फैसला किया है। राजधानी में कोविड के बढ़ते मामलों पर चिंता व्यक्त करते हुए दिल्‍ली के मुख्यमंत्री अरविंद केजरीवाल ने कहा कि ऑक्सीजन, दवाएं और बिस्तरों जैसी आवश्यक चिकित्सा आपूर्ति के लिए राज्‍य सरकार केन्‍द्र से सहायता ले रही है।


आज सभी परिस्थितियों का जायजा लेने के बाद आपकी सरकार को ये लगता है कि दिल्‍ली में कुछ दिन के लिए लॉकडाउन लगाना जरूरी है। तो आज रात को दस बजे से अगले सोमवार को सुबह पांच बजे तक छह दिन के लिए दिल्‍ली में लॉकडाउन लगाया जा रहा है। इस दौरान जाहिर है कि जो ऐशेंसियल सर्विसिज है वो जारी रहेंगी, खाने-पीने की, मेडिकल व्‍यवस्‍थाओं की वो जारी रहेंगी। ये शादियों का सीजन हैं, लोगों के बड़े मुश्किल से रिश्‍ते बनते हैं, हम उनके रिश्‍ते तोड़ना नहीं चाहते, तो लोगों की शादियां संपन्‍न हों, लेकिन केवल पचास लोगों के गैदरिंग के साथ सम्‍पन्‍न हों, उसके लिए अलग से पास दिए जाएंगे। हमारे संवाददाता ने बताया है कि दिल्‍ली सरकार ने आवश्‍यक चिकित्‍सा सुविधाओं की आपूर्ति के प्रयास तेज कर दिए हैं।    


"Corona virus infection rate has broken all the previous records in the national capital. Delhi is registering the highest number of cases since the outbreak of Covid-19 pandemic. Yesterday, over 25 thousand fresh cases were reported in Delhi and the positivity rate touched an all time high figure of 30 per cent. At present, the City's health facilities are facing shortage of several essential medical supplies.


However,the Delhi government has intensified its efforts to arrange the additional bed facilities, medical oxygen supplies and drugs. Delhi government has decided to directly monitor the entire procurement and distribution process of Remdesivir injections and medical oxygen. It has also directed all drug inspectors to ensure daily monitoring of the stock and sale of Tocilizumab and Favipiravir to restrict black marketing and to ensure sufficient stocks in the city. In addition, several schools, banquet halls and sports complexes have been turned into a Covid care centres. These centres will provide additional beds facilities to Covid patients. केंद्र सरकार ने कहा है कि प्रधानमंत्री गरीब कल्याण पैकेज बीमा पॉलिसी के दावों का निपटारा इस साल 24 अप्रैल तक जारी रहेगा। इसके बाद कोविड योद्धाओं के लिए एक नई बीमा पॉलिसी प्रभावी होगी। इस पॉलिसी के तहत कोविड योद्धाओं को 50 लाख रुपये का जीवन बीमा कवर प्रदान किया जाता है। बीमा कंपनी द्वारा अब तक 287 दावों का भुगतान किया गया है। इस योजना ने कोविड से लड़ने वाले स्वास्थ्य कार्यकर्ताओं के मनोबल को बढ़ाने में एक महत्वपूर्ण भूमिका निभाई है।

India has administered over 12 crore 38 lakh Covid-19 vaccine doses in the country so far. The Union Health Ministry said that more than 12 lakh 30 thousand beneficiaries have been inoculated with Covid-19 Vaccine doses in the last 24 hours. Meanwhile, two lakh 73 thousand 810 new Covid cases have been reported in the country in the last 24 hours taking the cumulative positive cases to over one crore 50 lakh. The Health Ministry said one thousand 619 deaths were also reported during the last 24 hour taking the toll to over one lakh 78 thousand across the country.


The country's COVID-19 recovery rate is at 86 per cent with recovery of more than one lakh 44 thousand patients in the last 24 hours. The Ministry said that more than one crore 29 lakh patients have already recovered from this disease.

प्रधान वैज्ञानिक सलाहकार के. विजय राघवन ने कहा है कि रेमडेसिविर इंजेक्‍शन चिकित्‍सक की सलाह पर ही लिया जाना चाहिए। एक ट्वीट में श्री राघवन ने कहा कि यह दवा कोविड-19 का इलाज नहीं है, इससे रोगी को केवल कुछ राहत मिल सकती है। श्री राघवन ने लोगों से डॉक्‍टर की सलाह मानने और उन्‍हें रेमडेसिविर देने के लिए बाध्‍य न करने का आग्रह किया।

The Government has termed as misleading a headline of a news report which claims that India's double mutation covid virus variant is worrying the world. The Press Information Bureau clarified that the double mutation has been found in several other countries as well.

Polling is taking place for the second phase of Panchayat elections in 20 districts of Uttar Pradesh. Voting, which started at 7 this morning, will end at 6 in the evening.  Strict adherence to the covid protocol during polling has been issued by the State Election Commission.

In the poll-bound West Bengal, the high-decibel electioneering campaign for the Sixth Phase of the Assembly elections will come to an end this evening. In view of rising cases of COVID-19, the Election Commission has decided to curtail the campaign timing for the remaining three phases of eight-phase Assembly Elections. The Commission has extended the Silence Period from 48 hours to 72 hours before polling for the remaining phases and as a result, the campaign will end this evening. The poll body took a serious view against the repeated violations of COVID-19 norms by political leaders, campaigners and candidates. The polling process is already over in respect of 180 out of total 294 Assembly seats in the earlier five phases.

Marking the continuity of growing bilateral defence cooperation with the French Air and Space Force, Air Chief Marshal RKS Bhadauria left for France today on a five day  official visit. The visit will enhance potential avenues for strengthening the level of interaction between the Indian and French Air Forces. He will hold meetings and discussions with senior military leadership of France and visit operational facilities and airbases.

In  Jammu and Kashmir, the administration has closed all the Universities, Colleges and Schools till 15th of May over alarming surge in Covid cases in the union territory. The decision was taken at a meeting chaired by Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha yesterday. Mr Sinha has instructed all the Deputy Commissioners to achieve 100 per cent coverage under the Ayushman Bharat - SEHAT scheme besides making serious efforts to intensify the covid vaccination.


After a detailed discussion, the decision was taken to keep all Universities and Colleges in J&K closed for imparting on-campus/in-person education to the students till 15th of May except for the courses and programs that require physical presence of students on account of laboratory or any research work. Colleges will move to online teaching mode. All Schools in the Union Territory shall also continue to remain closed for imparting on-campus / in-person education to the students till 15th of May.  Apart from this, public gatherings are being restricted in view of the surge in cases and it was decided that the ceiling on the number of people permitted to attend gatherings or any function shall be 20 in case of funerals; 50 for all kinds of gatherings at indoor venues and 100 for all kinds of gatherings at outdoor venues.  The Lt Governor passed the necessary directions for strict enforcement of the existing guidelines for compulsory testing of all incoming passengers to Jammu and Kashmir. All passengers or travelers coming to Jammu and Kashmir, whether by rail, road or air, will have to compulsorily undergo a COVID-19 antigen test through any of the prescribed methods as per the protocol of the J&K Government. Mr Sinha also directed all the District Magistrates in the Union Territory to put in place an effective mechanism to ensure COVID appropriate behaviour at all crowded markets, shopping complexes, Malls, besides taking stern action against the violators. Shenoi Goembab alias Vaman Raghunath Varde Walaulikar is regarded as the torch bearer of the modern Konkani literary movement. He was born on 23 June 1877 and passed away on 9 April 1946. Shenoi Goembab alias Vaman Raghunath Varde Walaulikar laid a solid foundation of the modern Konkani literary movement. He is regarded as the pioneer of Konkani movement.  Noted scholar, poet and critic Sakharam Borkar, gave details about the relevance of Goembab’s message.


Voice of Sakharam Borkar  The language of Shenoi Goembab is aromatic and powerful, impacting. Young researchers mindfully can compile many facets of Goembab’s literature to facilitate others to grasp it with ease. Yesterday, Delhi Capitals defeated Punjab Kings by 6 wickets at Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai. In the other match, Royal Challengers Bangalore defeated Kolkata Knight Riders by 38 runs in Chennai.

World championships silver medallist Deepak Punia settled for silver medal in the Asian wrestling championships in Almaty, Kazakhstan. Deepak, who has already secured a place in Olympics, lost 10-0 in two minutes 53 seconds to the world champion Hassan Yazdani in the 86kg freestyle final. Sanjeet bagged bronze for India in the 92 kg category. India thus ended the Asian Championships with seven medals in the men’s freestyle event and an overall tally of five gold, three silver and six bronze medals.

Stock Market News :-


The Sensex and the Nifty today plunged around 1.8 percent amid resurgence of Coronavirus cases in the country. The domestic stocks declined even as the cues from global equity markets were positive.


The Sensex at Bombay Stock Exchange closed below 48,000 mark while the Nifty at National Stock ended below 14,400 level.


The Sensex tumbled 883 points, or 1.81 percent, to trade at 47,949. The Nifty also fell 258 points, or 1.77 percent, to trade at 14,359.

Lala Hansraj (19 April 1864 – 14 November 1938) also known as Mahatama Hansraj, was an Indian educationist and a follower of Arya Samaj movement founder, Swami Dayanand. The vision and philosophy of the fearless reformer, Maharshi Dayanand, was given a practical shape by Mahatma Hansraj, who led the educational renaissance in the country. He was also a compatriot of freedom fighter Lala Lajpat Rai. With Gurudatta Vidhyarthi, he founded  the Dayanand Anglo-Vedic Schools System (D.A.V.) in Lahore in 1886, where the first D.A.V. school was set up in memory of Dayanand who had died three years earlier.Hansraj served as the principal of D.A.V. College for 25 years, and committed the rest of his life in social service. Today D.A.V. runs over 669 colleges, schools, professional and technical institutions. Today, many educational institutions are named after him, including Hans Raj Mahila Maha Vidyalaya, Jalandhar, Punjab Hans Raj College, Delhi University, where Mahatma Hans Raj College Road, is situated at the heart of the University's North campus.

आज जयंती है अंजू बॉबी जॉर्ज की। अंजू बॉबी जॉर्ज भारत की प्रसिद्ध एथलीट हैं। अंजू ने सितम्बर 2003, पेरिस में हुए वर्ल्ड एथलेटिक्स चैंपियनसिप लंबी कूद में कांस्य पदक जीत कर भारत को पहली बार विश्वस्तर की प्रतियोगिता में पुरस्कार दिलाया था। अंजू बी. जॉर्ज वर्ष 2003 में 25 वर्ष की उम्र में विश्व एथलेटिक्स में भारत की प्रथम पदक विजेता बनी। एक नज़रिये से देखा जाए तो अंजू का प्रदर्शन भारतीय एथलेटिक्स को नई दिशा देने की पहल है। इससे पहले भारत का नाम एथलेटिक्स में जरा-सी चूक के लिये जाना जाता था। 2004 में अंजू बॉबी जॉर्ज को 'राजीव गाँधी खेल रत्न' सम्मान प्रदान किया गया।


Anju Bobby George (born 19 April 1977)  is a retired Indian athlete. She is India's first and only World Champion in the IAAF World Athletics Final. Anju Bobby George made history when she won the bronze medal in long jump at the 2003 World Championships in Athletics in Paris. With this achievement, she became the first Indian athlete ever to win a medal in a World Championships in Athletics jumping 6.70 m. She went on to win the gold medal at the IAAF World Athletics Final (a competition between best eight athletes in the world based on the world ranking) in 2005, a performance she considers her best. She was awarded the Arjuna Award in 2002, Khel Ratna in 2003 and Padma Shri in 2004.. She had got 5th position with personal best score of 6.83 at the 2004 Athens Olympics. In March 2021, Anju won the BBC lifetime achievement award for best athlete in India.

Surekha Sikri (born 19 April 1945)  An Indian theatre, film and television actress, Surekha won the Best Supporting Actress award for her portrayal of a nagging grandma in Badhaai Ho at the 66th National Film Awards, where she was welcomed with a standing ovation .


This was her third National Award ...when earlier she received this award for her roles in Tamas (1988), Mammo (1995) as well. She was awarded the Indian Telly Award for Best Actress in a Negative Role in 2008 for her work in the primetime soap opera Balika Vadhu and for the same show won the Indian Telly Award for Best Actress in a Supporting Role in 2011.
