Prime Minister Narendra Modi has said India’s renewable power capacity is the 4th largest in the world and it is growing at the fastest speed among all major countries. Inaugurating the virtual 3rd Global RE-INVEST Renewable Energy Investors Meet & Expo, RE-Invest 2020 yesterday evening, Mr Modi said, the renewable energy capacity in India is currently 136 Giga Watts.
Mr Modi said, India is travelling on an unparalleled journey in the last 6 years. He said, country is expanding generation capacity and network to ensure every citizen has access to electricity to unlock their full potential.
The Prime Minister said, India's annual renewable energy capacity addition has been exceeding that of coal based thermal power since 2017. In the last 6 years, India has increased installed renewable energy capacity by two and half times. He said, even when it was not affordable, India invested in renewable energy and this is bringing costs down. The Prime Minister said, India is showing to the world that sound environmental policies can also be sound economics.   
Mr Modi said his government has not limited this mission only to one ministry or department but ensured that it becomes a target for the entire government. He said, all their policies have a consideration of achieving energy efficiency.
The Prime Minister added that ensuring “Ease of doing business” is the utmost priority and dedicated Project Development Cells  have been established to facilitate investors. He invited investors, developers and businesses to join India’s renewable energy journey as there are huge renewable energy deployment plans for the next decade.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi will share his thoughts with the people in the country and abroad in the 'Mann Ki Baat' programme on All India Radio at 11 AM on Sunday. It will be the 71st episode of the monthly radio programme. It will be broadcast on the entire network of AIR and Doordarshan and also on AIR News website www.newsonair.com and newsonair Mobile App. It will also be streamed live on the YouTube channels of AIR, DD News, PMO and Information and Broadcasting Ministry. AIR will broadcast the programme in regional languages immediately after the Hindi broadcast. The regional language versions will be repeated at eight in the evening.

Agriculture Minister Narendra Singh Tomar has said, government is ready to hold talks with farmers and discuss issues. Talking to media, the Minister said, the new farm laws were the need of the hour and are going to bring revolutionary changes in the future. He appealed to the protesting farmers to not agitate. He said, they have invited farmers for talks on 3rd December and expressed hope that the dialogue will have a positive result.

Union Minister Nitin Gadkari inaugurated and laid the foundation stones of 16 National Highway projects worth 7477 crore rupees in Uttar Pradesh yesterday. Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath was also present at the virtual function. These road projects worth 505 kilometers will enhance better connectivity, convenience and economic growth in the state. Speaking on the occasion, Mr Gadkari said that National Highways works worth two lakh crore rupees are being undertaken in UP.

Reserve Bank Governor Shaktikanta Das has said that the Indian economy exhibited a stronger than expected pickup in recovery after the first quarter of current fiscal. Mr Das, however, warned that downside risks to growth continue due to a surge in Covid-19 infections. He was speaking at the annual day event of Foreign Exchange Dealers' Association of India yesterday. The RBI Governor said, even as the growth outlook has improved, we need to be watchful about the sustainability of demand after festivals and a possible reassessment of market expectations surrounding the Covid-19 vaccine.
The sharp rise in Covid cases in eight states, which include key economic and business hubs, has prompted Ministry of Home Affairs to issue fresh guidelines for states to contain the spread of Corona virus. Over the last two months, the government announced two stimulus packages to boost demand in the economy through a slew of incentive schemes.

The Director General of Civil Aviation has extended the ban on international flights till December 31 in view of the coronavirus pandemic. However, it said that international scheduled flights may be allowed on certain routes by the competent authority on a case-to-case basis. The DGCA ban on the scheduled international flights was to end on the 30th of this month. India has established air bubble agreements with about 18 countries, including US, UK, France, UAE, Qatar and the Maldives, Kenya and Bhutan. This pact allows the operation of special flights between the countries.
The scheduled flights - both domestic and international flights were suspended on 23rd of March due to the pandemic. The Centre allowed domestic flight services to resume on May 25, but at only one-third capacity. The cap was later increased to 45% and then to 60%.

National Security Advisor Ajit Doval will be on a two-day visit to Colombo from today to participate in the 4th NSA Level Meeting on Trilateral Maritime Security Cooperation. Defence Secretary of Sri Lanka Major General (Retd) Kamal Gunaratne, Defence Minister of Maldives Mariya Didi will also participate in the meeting. Earlier Meetings were held in 2011 in Maldives, in 2013 in Sri Lanka, and in 2014 in India.

On the last leg of his three nation tour, External Affairs Minister S Jaishankar will reach Seychelles today. During his two-day visit, Mr Jaishankar will call-on the newly elected President of Seychelles Wavel Ramkalawan to present greetings of Prime Minister Narendra Modi. He will discuss with the President on the priorities of the new Government and avenues for further strengthening India-Seychelles bilateral relations. The External Affairs Minister will also hold bilateral consultations with the newly appointed Minister for Foreign Affairs and Tourism Sylvestre Radegonde.

Foreign Secretary Harshvardhan Shringla met his Nepalese counterpart Bharat Paudyal and discussed various aspects of Nepal-India bilateral relations. During their meeting, the two Foreign Secretaries discussed and reviewed various aspects of the bilateral ties between the two countries. They expressed satisfaction at the substantial progress made in different sectors of cooperation despite the constraints of the pandemic. The Nepali side appreciated Indian Government's active facilitation in ensuring smooth and unhindered cross-border flow of trade and commerce and active implementation of development projects during this time. The two Foreign Secretaries agreed to maintain the renewed momentum in high-level bilateral engagements and to further strengthen the traditionally close, friendly and multifaceted partnership between the two countries.

Konark Corps of the Indian Army has launched a 1971 kilometers cycling expedition in Gujarat and Rajasthan to commemorate the commencement of the Golden Jubilee Victory Celebrations of the Indian Armed Forces in the Indo-Pak War of 1971. December 3 will mark the commencement of the 50th year of the decisive victory of the Indian Armed Forces in the war. The cycle expedition has been flagged off from an outpost near Lakhpat in Kutch yesterday by Honorary Captain Gumansinh Jhala, an 87 year old War Veteran who had participated in both Indo-Pak wars of 1965 & 1971 then serving with 7 Grenadiers.

As part of ‘art-outreach’ initiative, Films Division has been presenting select package of films on Indian art and heritage as curated online festivals during the last few months. India has leaped across a significant milestone in its fight against COVID. The number of new daily cases have been below the 50 thousand mark for 19 consecutive days. In the last 24 hours, nearly 44 thousand new confirmed cases were reported while over 36 thousand people recovered successfully in the same time span. With cumulative recovery of more than 86 lakh 79 thousand people so far, the national recovery rate has reached at 93.66 per cent. The recovered cases in the country stand at nearly 20 times the number of active cases.

Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath has appealed to the people of state to follow all Covid related guidelines.
Meanwhile, due to sharp rise in Covid cases there will be no sitting of courts today and next Friday that is December 4 in Allahabad High Court.
"Instructing to further improve the Covid-19 recovery rate, the Chief Minister said that a detailed report should be obtained by the office of the Chief Secretary and the Chief Minister’s office from the District Magistrates of the districts where there is more than one death from Covid-19.  The CM has also directed the Additional Chief Secretary, Health, to communicate with the CMOs of these districts and the additional chief secretary, medical education, with the principals of medical institutions of these districts through video conferencing for use of better strategy  to curb the spread of virus. State currently has 25422 active covid patients. 2237 new patients have been found in state in last 24 hours and 30 deaths were reported due to the deadly virus. Bihar government has issued new guidelines for organising weddings and other events. The state government has limited the number of guests allowed at the wedding and other related events to 100, including staffs. Additional Chief Secretary Amir Subhani said these ristrictions are in addition to the Centre's guidelines issued on Wednesday. The state government order will remain effective till December 3. He said thermal screening of all people and the guests present at the event or wedding is madatory. Wearing masks is compulsory for every individual present at the event. The wedding procession of groom will not be allowed. Playing band or musical instruments is also prohibited.

In Tamil Nadu, the Covid-19 active caseload has dropped to 11-thousand 173. The number of new patients yesterday has come down to 1464 including 396 in Chennai. 1797 patients recovered from the illness in the last 24-hours while 14 others succumbed to it.
"The active Covid-19 caseload of less than 11 thousand and two hundred is a new low in Tamil Nadu. The recovery ratio in the state is currently put at 97.06 percent. The case fatality rate remains to be 1.5 percent. The new cases yesterday are in a single digit in seven districts, and in two digits in 28 others. Only Chennai and Coimbatore witnessed fresh cases of more than a hundred. Jayasingh, AIR News, Chennai".

Chhattisgarh Health Minister TS Singhdeo has said that COVID-19 situation in the state is under control. From October, the number of new cases has gradually declined. COVID cases in the state have decreased by 50 percent.
About 23 thousand Covid screening tests are being done daily in the state. Till date, more than 23 lakh tests have been conducted. State government has decided to establish four new virology labs in the state.

In Madhya Pradesh, more than 1 lakh 82 thousand patients have recovered so far in the state. 1 thousand 199 patients were also discharged from the hospital in the past 24 hours.
"More than 15 hundred new patients are being reported daily in Madhya Pradesh for about a week. 1 thousand 668 new cases were reported yesterday. As a result, the number of COVID-19 cases in the state has increased to around 2 lakh. The corona positivity rate in the state is 4.9 percent. With 12 patients succumbing to the infection, the death toll rose to 3 thousand 209. There are now 14 thousand 199 active cases in Madhya Pradesh and the state ranks 11 in the country in terms of the number of active cases of Corona. Maximum 572 people have been infected in Indore, while 332 new infections have been reported in Bhopal yesterday. Sanjeev Sharma, AIR News, Bhopal".

Gujarat has recorded 1560 new cases during the last 24 hours, which is the highest in a single day for the second consecutive day. Recovery rate remains at 90.93 percent.
"Gujarat has recorded a total 2 lakh 3 thousand 509 cases till now. Out of these, 1 lakh 85 thousand 58 patients recovered. 1302 patients recovered during the last 24 hours.  More than 75 lakh 51 thousand tests have been carried out in the state till date.  Maximum 361 new cases reported from Ahmedabad, while Surat recorded 289 new cases. At present total active cases in the state are 14 thousand 529, out of which 92 patients are on ventilator. 16 patients died yesterday taking the total deaths to 3922. Meanwhile, Ahmedabad Municipal corporation has added 32 new areas in the micro containment zone. Yogesh Pandya, AIR News, Ahmedabad".

Talking to All India Radio, Dr Rajinder K Dhamija, Head of Neurology Department, Lady Hardinge Medical College, Delhi advised people to undergo RT-PCR tests even if they are found negative in Rapid Antigen Test. He also urged people to continue to take proper precautions even after testing negative for Covid 19.

World Health Organization (WHO) has said that the coronavirus pandemic is no excuse for not getting enough exercise. In an of its physical activity guidelines, the UN health agency stressed that exercise is vital to physical and mental health, while sedentary behaviour can have serious repercussions. WHO chief Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus said that being physically active is critical for health and well-being -- it can help to add years to life. WHO's head of health promotion Ruediger Krech told reporters that if we do not remain active, we run the risk of creating another pandemic of ill-health as a result of sedentary behaviour. He told reporters that there are still no clear statistics on what impact the pandemic has had on physical activity, but lockdowns, movement restrictions, gym closures and other measures have clearly forced many people to stay home and have disrupted regular activities and exercise routines.

Indian Men's Cricket team will take on Australia in the opening One-Day International (ODI) of the three-match series today at the Sydney Cricket Ground. Indian team is returning to action after staying away from international cricket for more than eight months due to COVID-19 pandemic. Virat Kohli will continue to lead the Men in Blue in the 50-over format, while KL Rahul will serve as his deputy in the absence of injured Rohit Sharma.
Aaron Finch will lead the Australian side, with Pat Cummins serving as the vice-captain. All India Radio, Delhi will broadcast live commentary on the match alternately in Hindi and English from 8:30 AM till the end of the match. It will be available on FM Rainbow, Rajdhani, PB You Tube and other channels.
India will play three 3 ODIs, three T20s,  and four Tests during their two month stay in Australia. The 2nd ODI will be played on November 29 and the final ODI on December 2 in Sydney. The ODIs will be followed by three T20Is starting from December 4.

Mumbai will observe Mainly Clear sky and the temperature will vary between 21 and 32 degree Celsius.
Chennai will have Generally cloudy sky with moderate rain. The temperature will hover between 24 and 29 degree Celsius.
Kolkata is likely to have partly cloudy sky. The city observed a minimum temperature of 18 degree Celsius and is likely to experience maximum temperature of 26 degree Celsius.
On to North, Jammu witnessed a minimum temperature of 10 degree Celsius while maximum will be around 22 degrees. The city will have mainly clear sky.
Srinagar will have Partly cloudy sky. Temperature will hover between minus two degree celsius and 10 degrees.
In Leh, there will be generally mainly clear sky becoming partly cloudy towards afternoon or evening. The minimum temperature was minus ten degree Celsius while the maximum will be around four degree.
Gilgit will have mainly clear sky between 4 degree celsius to 12 degrees.
Muzaffarabad is mainly clear sky. The temperature will move from 6 to 15 degree Celsius.
In Dehradun, the temperature will hover between 9 and 22 degree Celsius. Sky will be mainly clear.
Chandigarh will have mainly clear sky. The temperature is likely to move from 10 to 22 degree Celsius.
In Hyderabad, the minimum temperature was 19 degree Celsius while the maximum will be 29 degrees. The city will have a generally cloudy sky with one or two spells of rain or thundershowers.
Ahmedabad will mainly clear sky. The minimum temperature was 15 degree Celsius while maximum will be 32 degrees.
And, in Guwahati partly cloudy sky. The minimum temperature was 14 degree Celsius while maximum will be 27 degrees.
