Well-known Telugu poet Sheik Khaja Hussain passes away

Well-known Telugu poet and Kendriya Sahitya Academy awardee Sheik Khaja Hussain, popularly known as Devi Priya, died of a brief illness in Hyderabad this morning. He was 69 and was survived by 2 sons. 
 
Born in Guntur district of Andhra Pradesh, Devi Priya worked as journalist with popular Telugu and English dailies. He had also penned award-winning lyrics for several Telugu films and associated with Telugu literary movements since the early ‘70s.
 
Telangana chief minister K Chandrashekhar Rao and Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister Y S Jaganmohan Reddy have condoled the demise of Devi Priya.
