Tomorrow to be the last day for withdrawal of candidature for bypolls in Nagaland

In Nagaland, tomorrow is the last date for the withdrawal of candidature for bye-election to the 14 Southern Angami-1 and 60 Pungro Kiphire Assembly Constituencies. Nine candidates that filed their nominations for these two seats were found valid after the final scrutiny being held yesterday.
Among the Six candidates who filed their nomination for 60 Pungro Kiphire Seat, one independent candidate Lithriyem Dupongle, had withdrawn his candidature yesterday.
Three candidates are in fray for 14 Southern Angami-1 Assembly Constituency.
Meanwhile, BJP, NPF and Congress have submitted their lists of star campaigners to the Chief Electoral Officer, Nagaland for the forthcoming bye-election to the 2 Assembly seats. 
State BJP President Temjen Imna Along, Deputy Chief Minister Y Patton and National BJP spokesperson Mmhonlumo Kikon among star campaigners for BJP, while NPF to have party President Dr. Shurhozelie Liezietsu and Leader of Opposition TR Zeliang among others, and NPCC President K. Therie to lead State Congress.
