Paddy procurement for Kharif 2020-21 continues smoothly

Paddy procurement for Kharif 2020-21 is continuing smoothly with purchase of over 284.18 Lalk Metric Tonnes (LMT) of paddy till yesterday against last year's corresponding purchase of 239.69 LMT.

This is an increase of 18.56 percent over last year. Punjab alone has contributed 198.38 LMT which is 69.81 percent of total procurement.

About 24.39 lakh farmers have already benefitted from the ongoing procurement operations with MSP value of over 53 thousand crore rupees.
