India have got to be favourites to win T20 World Cup: Michael Atherton

AIR
Former England captain Michael Atherton said that after the T20I series win over England, India have got to be the favourites to win the T20 World Cup, that will be held in the country later in the year.

Atherton also added that a tournament like the IPL has helped India develop a strong bench strength and said that it was amazing how India managed to win this series without some of their main bowlers.

However, he added that it won't be a cakewalk for Team India and picked England and West Indies as two other challengers for the title.

Yesterday, despite losing the toss, and being put in to bat first on a night where there was dew, India were led by a new opening combination of Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli. While Kohli took his time to settle in, Rohit Sharma got going from the start as India raced away to 60-0 in the powerplay overs. They added 94-run for the first wicket in quick time as India posted a massive 224 for 2 and won the match by 36 runs
