Union Minister of Environment, Forest and Climate Change, Bhupender Yadav has urged the people of the country to stop the use of single-use plastic to save the environment from the menace of plastic pollution. The ban on the use of single-use plastics was notified by the Union Environment Ministry in August last year and came into effect on the 1st of July this year.
In an exclusive interview with All India Radio, Mr Yadav asked the citizens to opt for biodegradable alternatives. The Minister also highlighted the global initiative for the environment launched by Prime Minister Narendra Modi called ‘Lifestyle for the Environment- the LiFE Movement’.
Mr. Yadav has stressed the Common but Differentiated Responsibilities of the nations around the world in tackling the emerging issue of climate change and climate justice.
