The Chief Election Commissioner Rajiv Kumar, Election Commissioners Anup Chandra Pande, Arun Goel and Deputy Commissioners reviewed the preparations being made for the assembly election in Karnataka during their three-day visit to the state.
Before their departure today, the Chief Election Commissioner Rajiv Kumar addressed the media along with other members of the Commission. He said that the focus will be on registering new voters and improving voter turnout during the forthcoming assembly election in Karnataka.
During their stay, the full Commission held meetings of the Electoral officers and senior police personnel, held interaction with the representatives of political parties and sought their suggestions to ensure free and fair elections. They also held a meeting with 34 district Electoral officers on pre-election arrangements.
They also inaugurated an exhibition on the history and significance of elections, launched a voters awareness campaign and a Hackathon and flagged off LED media vehicles at the Indian Institute of Science in the city. The EC held a special interaction with election ambassadors, students, physically challenged voters, heads of educational institutions and public influencers on improving the election process.
