Country's COVID-19 recovery rate stands at 97.24 per cent

India continues reaching new milestones in terms of administering COVID vaccine doses to its health care and front line workers. With over 6 lakh 28 thousand doses given in the last 24 hours, the cumulative vaccination figure has crossed the 1 crore 17 lakh 45 thousand mark.
The COVID-19 recovery rate in the country today stands at 97.24 per cent. The Health Ministry said, in the last 24 hours, 13 thousand 255 people were discharged after recovery. Till now, over one crore seven lakh 12 thousand people have recovered from the COVID-19 infection. In the last 24 hours, 10 thousand 584 new cases were reported. The number of active cases in the country stands at nearly one lakh 47 thousand comprising merely 1.34 per cent of the total reported cases. The Health Ministry has informed that 78 deaths were reported in the last 24 hours due to COVID-19 taking the cumulative toll to 1 lakh 56 thousand 463.
Indian Council of Medical Research, ICMR has informed that over 6 lakh 78 thousand samples were tested for COVID-19 in the country yesterday. With this the cumulative testing figure has crossed the mark of 21 crore 22 lakh. As of today, two thousand 393 laboratories are engaged in the work of testing COVID samples, which includes one thousand 220 government and one thousand 173 private labs.
