BJP National President Jagat Prakash Nadda has said that the Congress Government always ignored interests of the Himachal and the special category status was withdrawn when late Rajiv Gandhi was Prime Minister and late Virbhadra Singh was Chief Minister of the state. He was addressing the largely attended ‘Samman Samaroh’ organized at ‘Rath Ground’ in Kullu district on Friday. Mr Nadda said, the status of special category state was restored by the Prime Minister Narendra Modi and 90:10 ratio for Central-State share for projects was also restored during the tenure of the BJP Government.
The BJP President said that it was the Prime Minister Modi who ensured that the weaker sections of the society and those deprived of welfare benefits get their dues. He said, it was after 37 years that any government succeeded in repeating its Government in Uttar Pradesh.
Mr Nadda said, Himachal Pradesh has made unparallel development during the last four and a half years under the leadership of Chief Minister Jai Ram Thakur and all this was possible due to the double engine governments at the Centre and the State. He added that over 6,000-kilometre long roads were constructed in the state during the present tenure of the State Government.
Speaking on the occasion, Chief Minister Jai Ram Thakur said, the state has witnessed unprecedented development during the last four and a half years and the State BJP would surely succeed in ensuring the Mission Repeat in the 2022 elections. Mr Thakur said, the present tenure of the State Government has been full of achievements and accomplishments.
