Prime Minister Narendra Modi has remembered legendary singer Lata Mangeshkar on her birth anniversary today. In a tweet, Mr. Modi said there is so much that he recalls - the innumerable interactions in which she would shower so much affection. He expressed happiness that today a Chowk in Ayodhya will be named after her adding that it is a fitting tribute to one of the greatest Indian icons.
Meanwhile, Home Minister Amit Shah also remembers Lata Mangeshkar, Mr. Shah said in a tweet, she was a symbol of simplicity and gentleness. He added that she enriched the Indian musical tradition on the world stage.
Mr. Shah praised Mangeshkar's voice saying that her wonderful voice touched every heart. He said, her life dedicated to music and patriotism is an inspiration for all of us.
