The Government said that deaths and incidents due to Left Wing Extremism (LWE), have been reduced in the country. In a written reply in Rajya Sabha, Union Minister of State for Home Nityanand Rai said that 147 casualties were reported in 2021 while 98 cases have been reported last year. He said that 949 deaths were recorded from 2018 to the 15th of July this year due to Left Wing Extremism. Mr. Rai further said that the number of LWE-related incidents has also come down. He said that 833 incidents were recorded in 2018 while it reduced to 531 last year.
