Heavy rainfall has affected parts of Uttar Pradesh since the last few days. While informing about the rain situation, Relief Commissioner of Uttar Pradesh Shri GS Naveen Kumar said that at present all the embankments of the state are safe and there is no worrying situation anywhere. In the last 24 hours, the state has received an average rainfall of 12.4 mm, which is 175 percent of the normal rainfall of 7.1 mm. Thus, the state received an average rainfall of 589.6 mm from June 1, 2023 till now, which is 88 percent of the normal rainfall of 672.3 mm.
Relief Commissioner said that in the last 24 hours, 30 mm or more rainfall has been recorded in 06 districts of the state, namely: (Barabanki, Bahraich, Banda, Sultanpur, Gonda and Shravasti). No river in the state is flowing above the danger level. At present 91 villages in 08 districts of the state are affected by floods. A total of 04 rescue teams of NDRF-03, SDRF-02 and PAC-03 are working for search and rescue in the rain-affected districts of the state. Total 09 casualties in the last 24 hours in the state due to lighting and associated factors has been reported.
Dry ration kits, lunch packets and dignity kits are being distributed to people in flood-affected areas. Flood shelters, animal camps, animal vaccinations, and flood posts have been established. Rahat Chaupal is being organized at a total of 5014 places in all the sensitive districts of the state.
