In Maharashtra, at least nine persons lost their lives in a road accident on the Pune-Nashik Highway this morning. The mishap occurred when a tempo collided with a minivan, which then crashed into a stationary bus. Superintendent of Police of Pune Rural, Pankaj Deshmukh, said the minivan was travelling towards Narayangaon when it was struck from behind by the tempo, forcing it to collide with an empty bus parked on the roadside. Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis has condoled the tragic accident. He also announced financial assistance of five lakh rupees to the families of the deceased.
