75 years of Independence: Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav to conclude with ‘Meri Mati Mera Desh’ programme in August

The two-year-long celebrations of 75 years of Independence, Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav will conclude this month with Meri Mati Mera Desh programme. Prime Minister Narendra Modi during the last edition of his Mann Ki Baat programme announced about Meri Mati Mera Desh to pay respect to the brave freedom fighters and heroic women who participated in the freedom struggle.
 
Briefing media in New Delhi, Information and Broadcasting Secretary Apruva Chandra said, the progamme will be launched on the 9th of this month and will continue till the 30th of August. He said, Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav started in 2021 from Gujarat and under this campaign, more than two lakh programs have been organized across the country.
 
Culture Secretary Govind Mohan said, the programme comprises of dedication of Shilaphalakam, Panch Pran Pledge, Vasudha Vandan, honouring Martyrs and Flag hoisting with National Anthem. He said, Amrit Kalash Yatra carrying soil in urns from every corner of the country from Villages, Blocks, Towns, Cities will reach New Delhi. An Amrit Vatika will be built in National Capital Delhi with soil and plants from different parts of the country which will give a new strength to the spirit of Ek Bharat Shreshtha Bharat. The Culture Secretary informed that the Main event will be held in Kartavyapath in New Delhi on the end of this month. He said, various programmes will be organized in villages, gram panchayats, blocks and local urban bodies under the campaign. Mr Mohan said, this year also, Har Ghar Tiranga Abhiyan will be celebrated from the 13th to the 15th of August with the same zeal and enthusiasm as last year.
 
Secretary Youth Affairs Meeta Rajivlochan said, to ensure mass participation in this campaign on a large scale, a portal merimaatimeradesh.gov.in has also been launched. She said, information about various activities related to Meri Mati Mera Desh campaign can be seen on the portal yuva.gov.in .

Prasar Bharati CEO Gaurav Dwivedi said, Akashvani and Doordarshan will cover Meri Maati Mera Desh programme which will be held all over the country.
