EC says, 65.68% voter turnout was recorded in 3rd phase of Lok Sabha Elections

A total of 65.68 per cent of voter turnout was recorded in the third phase of Lok Sabha Election which was held on 7th of May. Among them there were nearly 66.89 per cent of males, 64.41 per cent of females and 25.2 per cent of third persons gender.

According to Election Commission, the female voter turnout was highest in Assam with female voter turnout of 85.34 per cent followed by West Bengal with 83.01 per cent. Uttar Pradesh recorded the lowest female voter turnout of 56.01 per cent followed by Gujarat with 56.56 per cent. In case of third gender voters, Goa recorded the highest voter turnout of 75 per cent.

In this phase, 93 Lok Sabha seats of ten States and one Union Territory went to polls. The voting took place on 25 seats of Gujarat, 14 seats of Karnataka, 11 seats of Maharashtra, 10 seats of Uttar Pradesh, nine in Madhya Pradesh, seven in Chhattisgarh, five in Bihar, four each in Assam and West Bengal, and two each in Goa and Dadra and Nagar Haveli and Daman and Diu in this phase.

With the conclusion of the third phase, polling is now over in 283 Parliamentary Constituencies for General Elections 2024 in 20 States and UTs. A total of 1331 candidates were in the electoral fray in this Phase.
