62-days long Shri Amarnath Yatra going smoothly from both the Yatra routes of Baltal in Ganderbal district & Nunwan Pahalgam in Anantnag district amid tight security cover

In the Union Territory of Jammu and Kashmir, the 62-days long Shri Amarnathji Yatra which had commenced on the 1st of July is going on smoothly from both the Yatra routes of Baltal in Ganderbal district and Nunwan Pahalgam in Anantnag district amid tight security cover. 

The devotees drawn from across the country visiting the pilgrimage were seen very much enthusiastic and quite eager to have the glimpse of Lord Shiva at the holy cave shrine of Shri Amarnath Ji.

As per the data last came in, over 17,000 Yatris paid their obeisance at the holy cave during the day today and so far the number of Yatris who have performed the darshan of Lord Shiva at the cave shrine in south Kashmir Himalayas since its commencement has crossed over 35,000 mark.
Earlier, the fourth batch of 4,758 pilgrims had left the base camp at Bhagwati Nagar Jammu in the wee hours today for the twin base camps Nunwan Pahalgam and Baltal in a cavalcade of 223 vehicles. 

Meanwhile, in connection with Vyaas Poornima today, the "Charri Mubarak" holy mace of Lord Shiva associated with the Shri Amarnath Ji pilgrimage was carried to Pahalgam in south Kashmir from Dashnami Akhada Srinagar for special traditional ‘Bhoomi-Pujan’, ‘Navgrah Pujan’ and ‘Dhawajarohan’ ceremonies as per the age old practice of the pilgrimage. The necessary rituals were conducted in presence of Sadhus and devotees led by Mahant Deepindra Giri.

The group was warmly received and welcomed by the Anantnag district administration authorities. Adequate arrangements were put in place for the smooth conduct of the ceremonies associated with the sacred pilgrimage.
