In Ladakh, in view of the upcoming 5th LAHDC Kargil Elections on the 4th of October 2023, ADC Kargil (Election Officer) Ghulam Mohi-Ud-Din Wani along with Deputy District Election Officer, Kargil supervised a training session for polling staff at Auditorium Hall, Kargil.
On the occasion, ADC Kargil briefed the Presiding and Polling Officers on their roles and responsibilities and asked them to ensure that all instructions regarding polling day were implemented in letter and spirit. He also urged them to perform their duties honestly and maintain coordination with each other and with sectorial and Zonal Magistrates for hassle-free conduct of elections.
During the training programme, around 300 employees of different departments were imparted necessary polling-related training in the Session. During the training, the polling staff were trained in the proper handling and operating of Electronic Voting Machines (EVMs). They were also briefed about duties assigned to Presiding Officers and Polling Officers. During the training programme, detailed deliberations were also held on procedures for the conduction of mock polls, tender votes, maintenance of poll diary, sealing election papers, sealing of EVMs, and others.
