There are around 55 lakh identified street vendors in the country and a total of more than 1 lakh loans have been disbursed by Private Sector Banks under PM SVANidhi Scheme. In a written reply in Lok Sabha, Union Minister of Housing and Urban Affairs Minister Hardeep Singh Puri said that the total number of identified Street Vendors in the country is 53,76,074. He said that for onboarding of street vendors on e-commerce platforms, this Ministry signed an MoU with platforms like Swiggy and with Zomato and approximately 9,400 street food vendors had been on boarded on these ecommerce platforms.
