In Jharkhand, five children belonging to a primitive scheduled tribe in Sahibganj district died in the last 10 days due to cerebral malaria. These primitive tribes reside in Nagarbhitta Pahad village under Basha panchayat of Mandro block. Around 20 children have been affected by the same disease. The district administration has provided medical assistance to the tribal people. Civil Surgeon Dr. Praveen Kumar Santhaliya told Akashvani News that a medical team has been sent to the village for immediate investigation and health assistance. Other villagers are also being medically checked after this incident came to light.
