In Uttarakhand, a vehicle fell into a deep gorge and sank into the Alaknanda river on Saturday morning between Kirtinagar and Devprayag on the Rishikesh-Badrinath National Highway in Tehri district. Five people lost their lives in the accident, while a rescued woman has been admitted to a Hospital. The deceased include a woman, two children and two men. The bodies of all were sent to Base Hospital Srinagar for post-mortem. The cause of the accident is not known. The victims were reportedly traveling from Faridabad to Gauchar.
