4th G20 CWG Meeting, under India’s Presidency, in Varanasi discusses on Draft declaration

The 4th G20 Culture Working Group (CWG) Meeting, under India’s Presidency, in Varanasi is discussing on the Draft declaration with the delegates from the G20 members, and international organisations participating.

Addressing the morning session of the meeting, Minister of State for Culture and External Affairs Meenakshi Lekhi said that Culture possess the capacity to play a significant role in achieving the sustainable goals such as enhancing education and promoting gender equality.

She said that by concentrating on the goals of this CWG meeting, India aims to foster cultural growth among the countries.  Union Minister of Culture G Kishan Reddy has also reached Varanasi today to take part in the culture ministers meeting scheduled tomorrow.

In today's sessions, there are discussions over the terms of reference for the declaration. Participating countries gave update on the Cultural Projects and there will be Presentation of the Varanasi Declaration of Culture Ministers.  In the evening the delegates will witness the grand Ganga aarti on the ghats.
