4th G20 Culture Working Group to meet in Varanasi to discuss actionable outcomes

The 4th G20 Culture Working Group will meet today in Varanasi to discuss actionable outcomes while positioning culture at the heart of policy making.

Meenakshi Lekhi, Minister of State for Culture will also take part in today's meeting.

Cultural working groups of the participant countries will discuss the agenda of the meeting for 2 days that is today and tomorrow and the Culture Ministers’ Meet will be held on Saturday. Delegates from G20 member nations, invitee countries, and various international organizations have already reached Varanasi and a grand welcome was given to them showcasing the culture and traditions of the country particularly the culture of Kashi and UP. Our correspondent reports that apart from the 20 participating countries, 9 inviting countries are also taking part in the meeting and around 170 delegates will be in Varanasi from these countries.

The meeting will start at the Darbar hall of hotel Taj Ganges at around 9:00 a.m. with the opening address of the ministers and the welcome remark by the chair. The first session of the meeting will be focused on Brief recap of the process of the CWG since the First Meeting in Khajuraho, Methodology for the shaping and discussion of the Ministers' Declaration and  Objectives of the Fourth Meeting and methodology. After discussing the ministers declaration in post lunch session the delegates will visit the famous Sarnath site in the evening. The delegates will also witness cultural performances including Indian classical music and dance forms during their time in Varanasi.
