The 43rd India International Trade Fair (IITF) has begun at Bharat Mandapam in New Delhi. Union Commerce and Industry Minister Piyush Goyal inaugurated the 14-day event. The theme of this year’s fair is Viksit Bharat @ 2047. The focus state this year is Jharkhand, while Bihar and Uttar Pradesh are the partner states. This year, 11 countries including China, Egypt, Iran, South Korea,Thailand, Turkey, and UAE are participating in this international fair. The first five days of the fair till 18th November, will be open for business trade. Thereafter, it will be open to the general public till the 27th of November.
Inaugurating the fair, Mr. Piyush Goyal stressed on the need to organize the trade fair biannually. He said the government is looking at the expansion of the India Trade Promotion Organisation and making it a pan-India organization. The Minister emphasised on the need to organize India’s own fair in the other parts of the world inviting international exhibitors.
On the sidelines of the event, Minister of Coal and Mines G. Kishan Reddy inaugurated the pavilion of the Ministry of Mines at the IITF 2024. Talking to the media at the occasion, Mr Reddy highlighted this year’s theme of the exhibition minerals to milestone. He said, the exhibition is showcasing responsible mining, innovation and sustainability in mining practices.
ITPO General Manager (Coordination), Shankra Nand Bharti said that this year’s fair theme is based on ‘Viksit Bharat @2047’ and Jharkhand is the focus state of the fair.
