In Maharashtra, four Naxals have been killed in a gunbattle between security forces and Naxalites inside the Repanpalli forests of Gadchiorli district this morning. Police said, security teams led by Additional SP, Special Operations Yatish Deshmukh encountered gunfire from the Naxals during an early morning search operation. Security forces retaliated strongly by counter fire. Police said, a credible intelligence was received yesterday afternoon about the presence of Naxals in the area. 

After the firing stopped and the area was searched, 4 male naxal bodies were recovered. Police said, One AK-47, One Carbine,  two country made pistols and naxal literature were recovered from the spot.
These naxals were carrying a combined cash reward of 36 Lakh rupees as declared by the Maharashtra government. Search and anti naxal operation is underway in the area. Details are awaited.
