4-Day Y20 Summit concludes in Varanasi

The four-day Youth 20  Summit- 2023 concluded on 20th August 2023 with the unanimous adoption of the Y20 Communique. The Y20 Summit was held at Varanasi in Uttar Pradesh from the 17th to the 20th of this month. The Youth 20 (Y20) Summit was organised by the  Ministry of Youth Affairs and Sports under the framework of India's G20 Presidency.
 
During the meeting extensive deliberations took place among the participating delegates of G20 countries on the five identified themes for the finalization of the Y20 Communique. The themes include Future of Work: Industry 4.0, Innovation and 21st Century Skills, Peacebuilding and Reconciliation: Ushering in an Era of No War, Shared Future: Youth in Democracy and Governance and Climate Change and Disaster Risk Reduction. After building consensus over these themes, the Y20 Communique was signed by the Heads of the Delegations of G20 countries and was finally adopted.
 
Talking to Akashvani News, Y20 Chair, Anmol Sovit said, the four-day Summit remained very successful and the major part of the Summit was the finalization of Y20 Communique. Mr Sovit added that the Summit also provided an opportunity to India to showcase its rich cultural heritage to the foreign delegates.
 
Talking to Akashvani News, the Director, Department of Youth Affairs, Pankaj Kumar Singh said, a marathon discussion took place on the five themes among the delegates, and consensus was built after resolving the differences of opinions and related issues.
 
Around 125 delegates from G20 countries, Guest countries, and International Organizations participated in the  Summit.
