Third edition of Kashi Tamil Sangamam inaugurated at Varanasi’s Namo Ghat

The 3rd edition of Kashi Tamil Sangamam today inaugurated at Namo Ghat, Varanasi. This 10-day event highlights the significant contributions of Sage Agasthyar to the Siddha System of Medicine (Bharatiya Chikitsa), classical Tamil literature, and also his contributions to the cultural unity of the nation.

The main objective of the Kashi Tamil Sangamam is to rediscover, reaffirm, and celebrate the age-old links between Tamil Nadu and Kashi-two of the country’s most important and ancient seats of learning. The program aims to provide an opportunity for scholars, students, philosophers, traders, artisans, artists and people from other walks of life from the two regions to come together, share their knowledge, culture and best practices and learn from each other’s experience. It also aims to make the youth aware and experience cultural oneness.

An exhibition on the different facets of Sage Agasthyar and his contributions to world of Health, Philosophy, Science, Linguistics, Literature, Polity, Culture, Art, particularly to Tamil and Tamil Nadu, etc., and seminars, workshops, book release, etc. will be organised at Kashi during KTS 3.0.

The Governor of Tamil Nadu, Thiru R.N. Ravi, flagged off the train carrying the first batch of Kashi Tamil Sangamam 3.0 delegates including students, teachers, and writers on 13th February 2025 from Dr. MGR Central Railway Station, Chennai.

This year the Kashi Tamil Sangamam is coinciding with two important events namely the celebration of Maha Kumbh at Sangam, Prayagraj and the consecration of Ramjanmabhoomi temple at Ayodhya. The delegates will be taken to have a holy “snan” at Sangam and also the darshan of the temple at Ayodhya. Students, Teachers, Farmers & Artisans, Professionals and small Entrepreneurs, women, and Researchers under 5 categories will participate in this Kashi Tamil Sangamam this year.
