3rd day of postal voting for Presidential elections concludes in Sri Lanka

The third day of postal voting for the Presidential elections concluded in Sri Lanka today. Amid intense campaigning among the front runners, government officials and tri forces officers exercised franchise at designated places including District Secretariats, Election Commission offices and Police units.

 

Postal voting for the Presidential elections in Sri Lanka went on for the third day with high participation among government officials. Deputy Postmaster General Rajitha Ranasinghe said that the use of postal votes was high over the first two days and added that more than 80% of people have used postal votes until yesterday. The Election Commission had informed that those unable to vote on the specified days can do so on 11th and 12th September as well. The postal voting process for the Election officially commenced on Wednesday for over 7 lakh 12 thousand government officials. The Presidential election that is scheduled for 21st of September is the first election ever since Sri Lanka went through the economic crisis in 2022.
