The government has said that 38 lakh street vendors have benefited from PM Street Vendor's AtmaNirbhar Nidhi (PM SVANidhi) Scheme. The Scheme was launched in 2020. Vendors can avail a working capital loan of up to ten thousand rupees from the PM SVANidhi scheme, which is repayable in monthly installments in a tenure of one year. Replying to supplementaries, during question hour in the Lok Sabha, Housing and Urban Affairs Minister Hardeep Singh Puri said, 41 per cent of loan has been given to women. He said, the government has set a target to provide around 50 lakh loans to street vendors.
