Three out of five major Asian indices today logged gains. Singapore’s Straits Times Index surged 0.61 percent, South Korea’s Kospi increased 0.25 percent and Japan’s Nikkei was up by 0.14 percent. Conversely, Hong Kong’s Hang Seng Index plunged 1.68 percent and China’s Shanghai Composite Index declined 1.11 percent.

Major European Indices were trading in negative territory. France’s CAC 40 slipped 0.15 percent, London’s FTSE was trading 0.12 percent lower and Germany’s DAX shed 0.10 percent, when reports last came in.
