In Sri Lanka, an orientation programme for newly elected Members of Parliament began today in the Parliament premises.
The three-day event aims to educate MPs on their roles, parliamentary procedures, and constitutional provisions.
Key attendees include Prime Minister Dr. Harini Amarasuriya, Speaker Dr. Ashok Ranwala, and senior parliamentary officials among others. Sessions will cover topics such as legislative processes, committee systems, and parliamentary privileges, along with practical training on electronic voting.
Additionally, MPs will be briefed on anti-corruption laws and parliamentary security.
