Sports and Youth Affairs Minister Dr Mansukh Mandaviya said that the Khelo India Para Games provide athletes with the best opportunities, helping them carve a path to success. Speaking at the Opening Ceremony of the Khelo India Para Games 2025 at Indira Gandhi Indoor Stadium, New Delhi, today, he expressed excitement over the enthusiastic response to every Khelo India event. He highlighted that Khelo India has become a unifying platform for athletes striving to bring glory to the nation.
Union Minister of Social Justice and Empowerment Dr Virendra Kumar, Arunachal Pradesh’s Sports and Youth Affairs Minister Kento Jini, and the President of the Paralympic Committee of India, former Paralympian Devendra Jhajharia, also attended the event. Dr Mandaviya emphasized the significant contributions of Khelo India to Indian sports, including the Khelo India Youth Games, Khelo India School Games, Khelo India Winter Games, and Khelo India Para Games. He praised Indian athletes for bringing pride to the country through their talent and dedication.
In his address, Dr Virendra Kumar described the Khelo India Para Games 2025 as a world-class platform where Indian athletes can compete and showcase their talent on a national stage.
As a key initiative under the Khelo India mission, the Para Games provide a stage for talented athletes to display their skills at a high level. The eight-day championship will feature over 1,300 para-athletes competing in six sports: para archery, para-athletics, para-badminton, para powerlifting, para shooting, and para table tennis.
