The 29th edition of the International Film Festival of Kerala, (IFFK) commenced in the capital city, Thiruvananthapuram last evening. Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan inaugurated the festival.
Actress Shabana Azmi, who completed 50 years of her acting career, was honoured at the ceremony.
During the festival, which will conclude on the 20th of this month, 177 films from 68 countries will be screened across 15 theatres. 14 films are vying in the International Competition.
More than 13,000 delegates and over 100 film professionals are expected to attend the gala event.
