In Maharashtra, 25 people died and eight others were injured after a bus carrying 33 passengers caught fire on the Samruddhi Mahamarg expressway in Buldhana district around 1.30 am today. President Droupadi Murmu, Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Home Minister Amit Shah and others have expressed grief over the incident.
Akashvani correspondent report: According to the authorities, the bus was traveling from Nagpur to Pune when it met with an accident on Samruddhi Mahamarg expressway and the diesel tank of the bus caught fire. Maharashtra Government has announced an ex-gratia of 5 lakh rupees to the next of kin of the deceased in the accident. In a tweet, Prime Minister Narendra Modi has announced an ex-gratia of Rs. 2 lakh from the Prime Minister's National Relief Fund. CM Eknath Shinde and Deputy CM Devendra Fadnavis visited the accident site. Later, they are going to visit the injured persons admitted in different hospitals. State Government has announced free treatment for the injured.
