The 2024 edition of the Grand Chess Tour (GCT) will start off today with the Rapid and Blitz leg in Warsaw, Poland. This is the first time in GCT history that three Indians—D. Gukesh, Arjun Erigaisi, and R. Praggnandhaa will be taking part. For the first time since winning the Candidates Tournament last month, Dommaraju Gukesh will face former world champion Magnus Carlsen. The tournament will start at 4:30 p.m. IST. The Grand Chess Tour is a multi-legged chess competition spread out over the year and across formats, where the top players in the world compete with each other. The event starts with nine rounds of rapid action, followed by 18 rounds of blitz.
