20 years from 2003 to 2023 golden period of freedom from poverty in Madhya Pradesh: Union Home Minister Amit Shah

Union Home Minister Amit Shah said that before 2003, Madhya Pradesh used to be a sick state. The BJP government that came in 2003 freed the state from the stigma of Bimaru state. The 20 years from 2003 to 2023 have been the golden period of freedom from poverty in the state and the foundation of self-reliant Madhya Pradesh was laid in these years.
 
Mr Shah also released the 20-year report card of the BJP government in the state from 2003 to 2023. He also launched the Garib Kalyan Maha Abhiyan.
 
Describing the benefits of double-engine government, Mr. Shah said that double-engine government created new paradigms of development in the state. He said, not only did the problems of roads, electricity and water go away, but the state advanced on all the parameters of education, health, good governance and development and brought development and prosperity from the capital Bhopal to the village chaupal.

Referring to the development-oriented policies of the Central Government, Mr. Shah said that after coming to power in 2014, Prime Minister Narendra Modi's government raised the standard of living of 60 crore poor people. He said, 14 crore people came out of poverty.
 
Criticizing the previous Congress governments in MP, he said that the state budget was left at 23 thousand crore rupees, which the Shivraj government  raised to 3.14 lakh crore rupees.
 
Schemes like toilets in every house, gas connection to every needy mother and sister, tap water in every house are examples of complete saturation, Mr Shah added. The Modi government has built toilets in 80 lakh houses in the state, and 1.2 crore Pradhan Mantri Anna Yojana cords have been made.
 
After Bhopal, Mr. Shah attended the BJP State Working Committee meeting at Atal Auditorium of Jiwaji University, Gwalior. More than 1500 workers and office bearers from across the state participated in the State Working Committee meeting. Mr. Shah guided the party leaders and workers regarding the upcoming assembly elections in Madhya Pradesh.

Election in-charge for Madhya Pradesh, Union Forest Minister Bhupendra Yadav, and Railway Minister Ashwini Vaishnav, several Union ministers and officials associated with the organization were present in the meeting.
