Twenty fishermen arrested by the Sri Lankan Navy a year ago, were released today. They were returned from Colombo by aircraft and were received at Chennai airport by the officials.

The release came after the intervention of the Central and State Governments. The issue was discussed during the recent visit of the Sri Lankan President to India. The fishermen were arrested for trespassing to the international waters.
