In Jammu and Kashmir, two-way Traffic has been restored on the Jammu-Srinagar National Highway (NH44) after a temporary halt due to continuous heavy snowfall between Banihal and Ramsoo. Akashvani Jammu Correspondent reports that the passenger vehicles are now plying from both directions. The Traffic Police have informed us that heavy motor vehicles will be allowed shortly. Commuters are advised to follow lane discipline for safe travel. Earlier, the National Highway was closed for vehicular traffic late last evening and remained closed overnight due to slippery conditions due to snowfall in the Banihal-Qazigund section and slippery road conditions between Ramban and Banihal. The vehicular movement on the busy highway was suspended following a fresh spell of snow and rain. The fresh Snowfall in the Ramsu-Banihal and Banihal-Qazigund sectors, along with rain in the Nashri-Banihal sector, led to the temporary suspension of traffic.
