Union Women and Child Development minister Smriti Irani informed that 2 lakh Anganwadi Centres will be upgraded to Saksham Anganwadis under Mission Poshan 2.0 for improved delivery of nutrition and Early Childhood Care and Education services.

In a written reply in Lok Sabha, the Minister said that 40 thousand rupees per year will be given for this upto 2025-26. She said that under POSHAN Abhiyan, the Anganwadi workers were given nearly 11 lakh smartphones. The Anganwadi Workers are also given an incentive of 500 rupees for completing monthly growth measurements of children and targeted home visits.
