Punjab Police has traced and arrested two persons responsible for last night’s grenade attack on the residence of senior BJP leader and national executive member of the party, Manoranjan Kalia’s residence in Jalandhar. The e-rickshaw used in this incident has also been recovered. Special Director General of Police Arpit Shukla said today that this was a major conspiracy by Pakistan’s ISI behind this attack to disturb peace and communal harmony in the state. He said the links of this attack with Babbar Khalsa International are also being probed.

He said various police teams, in close coordination with central security agencies, are conducting an operation to find out all the details and reasons behind the attack. Earlier, Punjab BJP Chief Sunil Jakhar, terming it as a planned attack, said it was negligence on the part of both the Chief Minister and the Director General of Police. Political leaders from various opposition parties have also condemned the attack.
