18th MIFF: 314 films from 59 countries across 61 languages part of MIFF programming 

The 18th Mumbai International Film Festival that began on 15 June will culminate in Mumbai tomorrow. This year, a total of 314 films from 59 countries across 61 languages were a part of the MIFF programming.  

On the penultimate day of the 18th Mumbai International Film Festival today, various films including Expectation, Birubala ‘Witch To Padmashri’, Two Strangers Trying Not To Kill Each Other, 5 Seasons Of Revolution, In Search Of Kasturi, Swami Vivekanand “A Bridge Between The East And The West”, Zima and The Village were screened. The MIFF honoured the legendary Czech animation filmmaker Jiri Trnka with an insightful retrospective session titled “From Theatrical Puppetry to Cinematic Perspective – A New Journey in European Animation”. On the sidelines of the festival, the Indian Documentary Producers Association (IDPA) organized an Open Forum on the topic ‘Creating new opportunities for documentary funding’. The festival also featured an insightful panel discussion on the topic, “Dissemination of Shorts: Penetration, Reach, and Exposure.”
