In the Union Territory of Jammu and Kashmir, over 17,000 Yatris paid their obeisance at Shri Amarnathji Holy Cave yesterday. Subsequently, the cumulative total of pilgrims who have performed the darshan of the naturally formed Ice Shiv Lingam of Lord Shiva at Shri Amarnathji Cave has reached about 85,000 till last evening, the seventh day of the holy Yatra yesterday amid tight security cover.
All the requisite arrangements have been put in place by the UT administration along both the Yatra routes of Nunwan-Pahalgam in Anantnag district and Baltal in Ganderbal district. Among the pilgrims who paid obeisance at the Holy Cave yesterday include 12,408 males, 4,095 females, 490 children and the rest Sudhus drawn from various parts of the country.
Meanwhile, the influx of Yatris continue to surge with each passing day making it one of the most successful yatra in the country. The entire Yatra is being monitored from Integrated Command & Control Centre (ICCC) at HMT which has been put in use for Shri Amarnath Ji Yatra since 2022.
An official at ICCC said that it has been integrated with Radio-Frequency IDentification( RFID ) which is pure data science and helps in effective crowd control management, traceability, avoidance of traffic jams and management besides ensures coordination among all stakeholders on a real time basis. He said the data analysis and simulation models are effective in disaster mitigation and preemptive actions.
