Civil Aviation Minister Kinjarapu Ram Mohan Naidu has said that 157 airports are operational across the country. He said, in 2014 only 74 airports were operational. Replying to a supplementary in the Lok Sabha today, Mr Naidu said, that under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, the government has expanded the airport network across the country. He said Ude Desh Ka Aam Nagrik, UDAN scheme has been a revolutionary scheme for the Civil Aviation Sector. The Minister said India’s domestic air traffic reached a milestone of over five lakh passengers in a single day.
