12 members from BJP and 9 from JD(U)  inducted in Bihar cabinet 

In Bihar, the expansion of the Nitish Kumar led government was held on Friday (15th March 2024) evening. 12 members from BJP and 9 from JD(U) were inducted in the state cabinet. Governor Rajendra Vishwanath Arlekar administered the oath of office and secrecy to newly appointed ministers at a function organized in Rajbhavan.
 
With this expansion, the strength of Nitish Kumar led cabinet has reached 29. Eight ministers were earlier inducted during the first expansion of the NDA government in Bihar on 28th January.
 
Former Deputy Chief Minister Renu Devi, former state BJP Chief Mangal Pandey, Hari Sahni, Janak Ram, Nitin Nabin are some prominent names from BJP who got ministerial berths.
 
BJP has made six new faces as first time ministers which are Dr. Dileep Kumar Jaiswal, Hari Sahni, Kedar Prasad Gupta, Surendra Mehta, Krishna Nandan Paswan and Santosh Kumar Singh.
 
From the JD(U) quota all nine inductees are previous ministers. Former minister Ashok Choudhary, Leshi Singh, Madan Sahni, Maheshwar Hazari, Sunil Kumar, Ratnesh Sada, Jayant Raj and Mohammed Jaman Khan are prominent names who got a berth in Nitish Kumar led government.
